Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

File:Bellurgan 1777.png seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. The reason given by the user who added this tag is: Uploader asserts "own work". However, unless the uploader is more than 250 years old, and authored this work in 1777, how is that the case?

The reason given by the user who added this tag is: Uploader asserts "own work". And that it can be released as "self/cc-by-sa-4.0". However, this image appears to be a republication of a 19th century or 20th century railway route map - likely authored/published by someone associated with the railway. How does "own work" apply?

Hi @TommyMurf. I have attempted to correct the licence/authorship/etc for this railway map. As the original/source image also appears to be on Commons. Can you look at the others please? Guliolopez (talk) 13:12, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

How can I change this, do I need to delete the photos and attach them again? I cant see how to delete them either? TommyMurf (talk) 11:06, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

As on Wikipedia, if you need to edit the details of content on Wikimedia, just click the "edit" button at the top of the page/entry. For example, for the File:Bellurgan 1777.png file, you'd just click into the page, click the "edit" button. And perhaps change the licence header from {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} to something more accurate. Maybe {{PD-Art|PD-old-100-expired}} or similar. As with other old maps in the category Category:18th-century maps of Ireland. If there is no valid alternative licence, and you believe an image you uploaded shouldn't be on Wikimedia Commons and should be deleted, tag it with {{SD|G7}}.
