Uploading photos taken by others

edit

Hey, I'm glad you've taken an interest in getting photos of the new MBTA buses - I usually don't manage to get shots until they're in revenue service - but Commons only allows photographs where there is undisputed proof that the photos have been made available under a free-use license. Since someone else took the pictures you uploaded, there needs to be an explicit declaration of such permission. If the photographers of these pictures have indicated they are willing to allow their images to be used under a Commons-compatible free license, then they can send a statement of such (explicitly listing that they are the author, and which free-use license they allow use under) to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. You can find more details on that process here. However, if the original photographer is not willing to license the images in this manner, they will be deleted. Feel free to reply here if you have further questions. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 15:36, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
