Akbarnama edit

Beacause it is not the name of the painter. I don't know from where you take this information, but Surdas was the author (writer) of the piece which was illustrated, not the painter. Therefore I delete it - it was misleading. All the best:) --Nous (talk) 19:53, 19 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello Nous,
sorry, but you are wrong. This picture is part of an illustrated Akbar-nama, the most important source for Mughal-Indian history. It was written by Abu'l Fazl Allami, the court historian of Akbar. Surdas, or Sur Das (Gujarati), was a painter who made several pictures for an illustrated copy of this text. Concerning this picture, I can send you a link to the Chester Beatty Library. You will find his name in the description of the image. On the same page you will see that the Akbar-nama is written by Abu'l Fazl. [CBL] If you are interested in more information on Surdas, you are invited to look at the article on the Chester-Beatty Akbar-nama [2. AN] (illustrations 9, 12, 31 and 47 are by Surdas). Moreover, there's an article on the Akbarnama in English and German (my own). - Please let me know whether you still have objections to fill in the name Surdas.
