Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Come avrai capito, nell'ambito del copyright, molto spesso si finisce a parlare di questioni di lana caprina. Io personalmente non mi sono informato bene su cosa rappresentasse quella foto, l'ho vista di sfuggita, ho creduto che fosse una spece di modellino stilizzato dell'automobile ma, come puoi vedere non ho partecipato alla discussione per la sua cancellazione e il commento che ho scritto nel bar vuole essere solo una risposta a Raoli che ha tirato in ballo ingiustificatamente la libertà di panorama. Ora tu mi dici che quella cosa è una specie di scheletro che viene utilizzato nella fabbrica dagli operai per dare forma al telaio dell'automobile (e quindi sbaglia Cruccone a quando dice: "questo modello in legno serve per disegnare le forme, ma quando l'auto viene prodotta il modello viene copiato, non è che le lamiere vengono sagomate sopra il modello").

Se devo essere sincero non sono molto ferrato sulla questione dei modelli e dei disegni tecnici e la questione è complicata perché, se è vero quello che dici, quello è un semplice strumento di lavoro ma comunque quella dima da una perfetta idea di come sia la forma del telaio.

Se vuoi la mia idea, che come ti ho già detto non equivale a quella di un avvocato o di un giudice, quella foto non avrebbe dovuto essere cancellata, evidentemente, anche se è molto affascinante, una dima è uno strumento di lavoro (un po' come l'incudine per il maniscalco) e non di design e chissà quante ne avranno avute in fabbrica, non è considerabile come un progetto perché appunto è uno strumento di lavoro non un progetto (potrei dore allora che anche l'automobile vera e propria che vedo per strada è considerabile come un progetto) e non si può neanche obbiettare che quella dima mostra la forma originale e protetta da copyright dell'automobile perché, come ho già detto, anche l'automobile vera e propria mostra la forma dell'automobile :-D

Personalmente ritengo che le motivazioni di quella cancellazione siano un po' tirate, sono presenti su commons, violazioni di copyright molto più eclatanti che non vengono discusse.

Se ti aspettavi che ti esponessi i motivi per cui quella foto è stata cancellata mi dispiace di averti deluso ma, come ti ho detto, non sono molto informato sulle questioni riguardanti i progetti e i modelli industriali e, come tu mi hai chiesto, ti ho dato la mia opinione. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Ciao, le tue osservazioni sono interessantissime e condivido il fatto che il copyright del webmaster non ci sia. Per quanto riguarda l'URAA non ho letto le fonti originarie ma dalla pagina d'aiuto non vedo estensioni oltre il termine naturale del diritto d'autore nel paese d'origine. Per quanto riguarda la modifica mi sembra in realtà una tutela assimilabile a quella su un marchio, che non involva la proprietà intellettuale quanto l'uso del "marchio". Fra l'altro è una cosa abbastanza fuori dai canoni di Berna quindi i nostri colleghi USA-centrici tenderebbero a infischiarsene come per lo scellerato decreto Urbani. Dear Fulvio314,

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).

• In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
• In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)

We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:

1. 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.

Ciao Fulvio come stai? senti non vorrei che questa richiesta di parere venisse fraintesa come una "chiamata alle armi" però vorrei sapere cosa ne pensi te di questa procedura di cancellazione, perché vogliono cancellare una voce che secondo me ha i requisiti per rimanere, visto che i contenuti ci sono ma soprattutto lascia spazio a nuovi contenuti. Hai ragione, ma non si tratta di votazione, ognuno esprime il suo parere e bona, se poi ti senti "influenzato" in qualche modo, evita di partecipare e stop. Mica ti ho scritto "vota mantenere qui". Bah dubito che un utente esperto si faccia influenzare dalla "simpatia", siamo professionali cavolo. Comunque già in 3 l'hanno presa per una campagna e anche tu sembri vederla così dal messaggio, almeno tu non pensi male. Rotazione

Carissimo Fulvio, ci si ritrova anche qui ed io ho il problema di questa immagine che deve essere ruotata di 180. Ci ho provato ma nulla è cambiato. E' la sezione di una tomba e come puoi vedere alla tua destra, il primo ambiente che ha la volta a botte è invece capovolto. Sono sicura che tu sai sistemare l'immagine perchè da come ho letto mi pare abbastanza complicato ed io sono poco pratica di Commons. Grazie cmq, è sempre un piacere contattarti. Allora, nel cercare il ka di un sovrano, mi sono modestamente imbattuta nei due File:KV43-ArmPanelFromAChairSide1_MetropolitanMuseumOfArt.png e File:KV43-ArmPanelFromAChairSide2_MetropolitanMuseumOfArt.png. Ma la descrizione mi pare errata in quanto non si tratta di un trono (peggio sedia) ma dei pannelli che costituivano il carro da guerra del battagliero sovrano Tuthmosis IV ovvero due pannelli in legno decorato a bassorilievo che Carter trovò nella tomba (30.8.45A-C). Per tua tranquillità la nota é Elio Moschetti, Mario Tosi, "Thutmosi IV", Ananke, pag. 85. Avrei voluto correggere io, ma come puoi leggere più sopra, mi sono limitata alle categorie pur essendo appassionata di reperti e quindi non so proprio come si corregga. @Motopark: (please, forgive may bad english) This image does not need any permission since it is in the public domain as derivative work of this. The copyright request and subsequent two appeals were rejected for lack of originality, in short: Yin-Yang is PD and copyright does not extent to names, titles, short phrases, symbols, typography, layout, format, or mere change of size or coloring. Files di Falcon Photography con filigrana

Ciao, intanto grazie per la revisione del file Bentley. Ho radunato tutte le immagini di Falcon Photography qui e quelle con filigrana qui. Naturalmente non è necessario intervenire su tutte, anche perchè diverse hanno una filigrana estremamente poco invasiva o quasi invisibile. Potrebbe essere utile correggere solo quelle più interessanti per il progetto. Nel frattempo stò selezionando nei suoi album su Flickr altre immagini che uploderò sempre in queste categorie, poi ti segnalerò quelle che credo siano più rilevanti. Immagine di Hong Kong Cinemagic

Salve Fulvio, premetto che già mi sono rivolto al bar italiano ma snon sono riuscito a farmi aiutare, mi rivolgo a te perché sei un wikigrafico. Al bar ho chiesto se fosse possibile portare su commons questa immagine (presente in questa pagina) o eventualmente di riprodurla rispettando i requisiti richiesti da commons, ma non come file nuovo ma per rinnovare questo (presente in quest'altra pagina). Purtroppo è una situazione complicata e non ho capito bene il motivo anche perché mi sembra strano, su commons non ci pensano 2 volte a eliminare le immagini che hanno qualche problemino, in questa però non si vede assolutamente niente, come mai non viene aggiustata? @Smitersleon: Non è possibile caricare su Commons immagini coperte da copyright. Non puoi nemmeno riprodurla in modo fedele, sarebbe sempre una violazione di copyright (e riprodurre un logo in modo abbastanza diverso non avrebbe molto senso). Può essere ospitata su Wikipedia inglese perchè ha delle regole diverse da Commons che consentono un uso limitato di immagini protette. Wikipedia italiana ha delle regole ancora diverse (vedi EDP, è un argomento un po' difficile, va letto con calma). Dovresti approfondire nella Wikipedia francese come si comportano in merito, un buon punto di partenza può essere questo (porta pazienza, con il francese Je ne suis pas bon) :) -- Fulvio ³¹⁴ 06:08, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Regarding this photo: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Argiope_trifasciata_DSC_6908e.jpg Your photo in Wiki Commons titled Argiope trifasciata is not that spider. It is actually Argiope bruennichi. I left a comment on the talk section in February explaining the difference. Today I saw that nothing was changed on the page, so edited the description and changed it to the correct name, Argiope bruennichi. However, the TITLE of the photo is still incorrect. Please change the title to the correct name as soon as possible. This photo has been used (incorrectly) on the French Wiki for Argiope trifasciata because you have labelled it incorrectly. There is still this nest (found in the same country/county/town and season) that is easily an A.bruennichi, and this Thomisus to be checked. @Fulvio314: The spiderlings (baby spiders) definitely do not look like A. trifasciata. They MAY be A. bruennichi, but even the most experienced arachnologists usually cannot identify any spiderlings with certainty, until they get much bigger. If the egg sac was visible, that would help. But there are many, many types of orb weaving spiders whose babies look almost identical to those in your photo! So these are definitely NOT A. trifasciata spiderlings, and they should not be labelled A. bruennichi either, since that is not certain. La licenza deve essere concessa dal titolare dei diritti. La moglie può concedere la licenza solo se lei è l'autrice della fotografia. Puoi provare a metterti in contatto con lei o direttamente con Riccardo Billi via facebook per trovare una immagine adatta. Facciamo un po' di palestra del copyright, visto che sono casi che potresti trovare ancora sulla tua strada diverse volte. 1) Se le fonti fossero uguali, potrebbero comunque avere copyright differenti. Devi trovare la dichiarazione inconfutabile per l'immagine che ti interessa caricare, altrimenti... niente da fare. Su Commons non ammettono licenze per deduzione o buon senso o altro, devi avere l'evidenza materiale della licenza. 2) Spink non dichiara le fonti, dichiara solo che i copyright delle immagini appartengono ai loro legittimi proprietari (!), quindi, nessuna immagine può essere usata con questa fonte. 3) Per ipotesi, se l'immagine nel catalogo fosse uguale a quella attuale di Commons, non ti consentirebbe nemmeno in questo caso di dedurre che l'origine è la stessa e quindi anche la licenza, perchè semplicemente l'immagine del catalogo potrebbe essere stata presa essa stessa da Commons! Cioè avrebbe fatto il percorso contrario. 4) Il risultato della ricerca immagini con Google della foto che interessa a te, riporta decine di risultati coperti da copyright. Se anche ti capitasse di trovarne uno senza copyright, non verrebbe ammessa su Commons quando le altre (uguali) sono protette. Riassumendo, Commons consente di caricare soltanto immagini che siano chiaramente, indubbiamente ed incontestabilmente libere da copyright, oltetutto, anche per uso commerciale. Salve. Sto scrivendo un ebook che riguarda i trattamenti anti-invecchiamento del viso, e un capitolo è dedicato all’anatomia della pelle e ai suoi vari strati. Cercando nel web un’immagine che potesse fornire un aiuto visivo ai lettori, ho trovato la sua:[[3]] Se ho capito bene posso usarla nel mio ebook, ma devo citarla come l’autore. Come faccio? Devo mettere una didascalia con un link all’immagine o alla sua pagina su Wikipedia? Cosa devo scrivere? E se volessi comprimere l’immagine? Lo posso fare? @Bianchianna80: Quale onore! L'immagine è una mia opera derivata da un'immagine di un altro autore, che a sua volta l'ha derivata da un'altra ancora. Qui c'è la pagina con la regola precisa riguardante il riutilizzo delle immagini. Riassumendo: il link alla pagina dell'immagine dovrebbe assicurare la citazione della catena degli autori e la licenza di riutilizzo, per sicurezza si potrebbe anche aggiungere il tag "Cc-by-sa-3.0". :) -- Fulvio ³¹⁴ 12:10, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

You need six distinct colours. First, it would help to make the sea plain white. Also, try to reduce the saturation of the land mass or make the land pale grey (without losing the Alps, the position of which is significant). For the four beaker-culture groups, I suggest one of each of the following:

Saturated yellow

Dark blue

Dark red

Magenta

I will look at your new version if you like.

Gentile Fulvio314, ti ringraziamo ancora una volta per la tua passata partecipazione a Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM). Il più grande concorso fotografico del mondo si svolge anche questo settembre per documentare e promuovere il patrimonio culturale italiano, con una licenza copyright libera.

Quest'anno è doppiamente facile partecipare: gli oggetti fotografabili coprono quasi 1000 comuni in più, grazie all'adesione di centinaia di nuovi enti fra cui Roma, e alla possibilità di fotografare circa 2000 alberi monumentali. Controlla le liste di monumenti fotografabili! Carica tutte le foto che hai e magari organizza una visita presso i monumenti che ancora non hanno una foto.

Quest'oggi il Parlamento europeo ha respinto la proposta di estendere la libertà di panorama. E allora scattiamo e pubblichiamo tutte le foto che possiamo, almeno per questi monumenti per cui ci è legalmente consentito!

Dispute in corso relative alla riproduzione di questo file

Salve Fulvio314 ci sono dispute in corso relativamente a questo questo file secondo cui non rispecchierebbe la sua fonte. In particolare non rispecchierebbe i caratteri cinesi riprodotti e presenti nello screenshot, del documentario (oltre che su altri documentari) anche su IMDb, come da fonte. Potresti per favore aggiornare il file caricando una immagine disegnata (magari tramite programmi aggiornati che facciano in autonomia il lavoro) più fedele all'originale? Scusami per la richiesta forse pignola che avrei sicuramente evitato se non fosse per la pignoleria di qualche utente che ha tempo da perdere.
