I don’t think that’s a good analogy. Graffiti is an important part of urban culture that’s existed since at least the Roman Empire, whereas this is just a picture of a penis with “  <—— My Penis ~c==3” written next to it on the owner’s leg. Is this really an important phenomenon we need to document? Thank you for en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Pitzzaboy/Archive. Other sockpuppets of Pitzzaboy, for example Flopbean, are in Commons also tagged as sockpuppets of Mazum. Hi, can you restore this image please? It was tagged by User:Veverve (which you blocked on the grounds of "creating bad deletion requests after warnings"). The image was clearly tagged with a watermark "Copyright CC BY 4.0: Pakkin Leung" along with the source url in the file description. This was further reaffirmed by the author who said that all of his images are released under CC BY 4.0. Also pinging User:Yann since Yann accepted the speedy delete by Veverve which was wrong even at a glance. OhanaUnitedTalk page 19:19, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

  Not done. The file is correctly deleted. The problem is not photographer's rights, but poster. Per {{FoP-Poland}}, art can be photographed in Poland only if it is permanently situated. @Ellywa: You are right. Normally I would not temporary undelete files at all, but these files I deleted with rationale "author's request on uploading week". Hi Taivo. Would you mind taking a look at File:Denzel curry 2019.jpg? It appears to be re-upload of File:Denzel Curry Red Rocks 06.05.19 (48012819743) (cropped) (cropped).jpg and it's not clear why there was a need to do that, especially since its a smaller version. The original was uploaded under a {{Cc-by-2.0}} license, but the upload is under a {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} license. Maybe all that needs to be done is for the license to be retweaked and a {{Modified}} or {{Extracted from}} template to be added to the re-upload's file page, but I'm not sure. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:32, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Years of completion

Hi Taivo, I have one useful information regarding your edits like this: there's no need that you spend precious time for inserting years of construction inside photos, because there's one unique "rule" with Iranian architecture here. If there's a particular category of building or structure (like Sepehr Tower), there's always a category with year of completion, or decade, or century, and that chronological data is supported by references under "inauguration date" property inside Wikidata. Refs are always links with reliable sources, not dubious dates imported from Wikipedias. Thousands of buildings follow that rule, as you can see on lists of 502 years & 115 decades. If there's accidentally a building without proper category & infobox ref, it means I didn't pass it yet, and that I'll do it soon. :) It's also useful to know this information because in recent months some statues (like this) were nominated to deletion, despite being properly sourced in infobox. --Orijentolog (talk) 10:51, 8 June 2022 (UTC)

Good afternoon Taivo, I would like to inform you that Miss Mattërn (A3cb1) has been reincarnated in Serkerßrando few time ago, and he/she is reuploading some of the files that were deleted from Miss Mattërn and also uploading a lot of another paintings, drawings and photographs of European nobility, Catholic Church, and another themes. Also, I cite here my message sent to DMacks, who blocked three similar-activity accounts few time ago: Marasmieli, Antitumint4 and Kurnughy77 (the last one uploaded a serie of files of Pope Pius XII which I nominated for deletion and that I can see that you deleted the three remains, and for that thank you so much). The three accounts that I tell you are related between themselves specifically by the style of pronunciate "unknown author" for works with no kwown author: they had used "Unknow Person". With this phrase style to explain that a work is unknown I was able to investigate related accounts and I'd found Miss Mattërn. For that, after see that Miss Mattërn was also a sock, I suspect that the three related accounts blocked by DMacks are possible other socks of A3cb1 (master account of Miss Mattërn). With this, as you are also the admin who blocked Miss Mattërn, could you please block Serkerßrando too and confirm that Marasmieli, Antitumint4 and Kurnughy77 are also sockpuppets of A3cb1 please? Pictures, which owns the copyright to the film, and it does not belong to a trailer screenshot, so it's has been falsely credited as being on the public domain. Fortepan

As I understand, Fortepan has amazing library of various interesting images but sadly they have no problems with lying (or they are very confused about licensing).

Is the approach to delete files only in case of confirmed/blatant lies?

I really like WC because using files is relatively safe due to treating copyright (including its idiotic parts) seriously, so I am confused why this images were not deleted given that Fortepan slaps CC on everything no matter whether they have rights or not. They are not lying about sources, that accusation is unsubstantiated. They used wrong licences in some cases which I think happens quite often with our users too, and in fact with everybody who is not a copyright expert. And I'm fairly sure that painter Tamás Konok was not lying on his own blog about the photographs of his father. Your approach to nominate for deletion every Fortepan image has huge implications for Commons, and goes against a previous policy where only confirmed mistakes were deleted like the Magyar Rendőr photographs. Recently you nominated a bunch of really old pictures for deletion where the donor was named as Fortepan. It was previously agreed that Fortepan as donor is not enough information (as it means the photograph has no specified donors) but the images are all qualify for PD-Hu-unkown due to their age (pre-1943) and the fact that they are works of unknown photographers. VRT Permission received for photo you've deleted

I'm looking through Ticket:2022062010003871 now, and it appears to have valid permission for the now-deleted file previously available at file:NickyLu 2.jpg. I'm seeing that the file was deleted as a copyright violation, though we received valid permission one day before the photo was deleted as a copyright violation. Would it be possible to restore the photo to commons?
