Autopatroller edit

Hi, Larryasou. You have made a lot of good work and your edits do not need to be patrolled anymore, so I just made you autopatroller. Thank you for good work! Taivo (talk) 20:16, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Commons:Duplicate edit

Hi . Similar versions of the same general image can exist (tag with {{Other version}}). It is the exact duplicates that we cull, and the explanation has the technical detail.  — billinghurst sDrewth 12:03, 24 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

This file was deleted by you by mistake. https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Lewisburg_High_School_Logo.png&action=edit&redlink=1 Can it be undeleted by request since it says it no longer exists? Or does it have to be re created? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lwikpat (talk • contribs) 17:08, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Lwikpat: Do you mean this one? [1] Larryasou (talk) 18:11, 9 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Larryasou: Somewhat. That is a banner on the official school site that uses the official logo I created for that purpose. The logo is the design on the left side of the banner, without the banner text. I uploaded the logo image to wikimedia commons twice and it has been deleted twice. I do not understand how to prevent its deletion. This is an online copy of the logo by itself: [2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lwikpat (talk • contribs) 20:42, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Lwikpat: Is this your original work? Please note that recreating a logo shouldn't be considered your own work and uploaded to commons.--Larryasou (talk) 03:18, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Larryasou: Yes, this is my original work. If there is a more appropriate way to include the official school logo on the school page, please let me know.

Hi Larryasou, this image[3] was told "This media is missing permission information" by your comment, but the format about this image I reference the image which already exists on Wikimedia Commons [4] Both images come from MV, CC-BY-3.0, but why this image can't get Youtube CC license "This video, screenshot or audio excerpt was originally uploaded on YouTube under a CC license." Thanks. Myinphi (talk) 01:58, 1 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Myinphi: Hi, Myinphi. Not all YouTube videos are freely licensed. Only those which have been claimed "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" on description are licensed under {{YouTube CC-BY}}. (e.g. youtu.be/kJph4q0Im98 ).--Larryasou (talk) 03:20, 1 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Firstly this is an official portrait of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas. There was another unflattering photo of the Prime Minister uploaded by someone else. Please show where permission by the Prime Minister was granted for that photo Deus Ghost Aeon (talk) 13:38, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

3 files edit

@Larryasou: Hi, I have uploaded File:Holland Park Gate Pier Griffin.jpg and File:Holland Park Gate Pier Griffin.jpg after having read at the author's page that his site is not commercial and is not intedned for selling photoes, prints etc. (http://www.speel.me.uk/index.htm). If it is not enough for permission, it's better to delete these files at once. As to the File:Witches Well Edinburgh Memorial Plaque.jpg I'm afraid I cannot find the specific page from that source site anymore, but the same photo is published at another site https://th.hotels.com/go/scotland/the-witches-well-edinburgh with this Creative Common License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Must I edit the info at the file page directly? Annablazeprobable (talk) 06:03, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Annablazeprobable: I'm sorry for it. A explicit license is needed for those photos. You may contact the website owner to obtain permission. Please see COM:OTRS. The photo File:Witches Well - Detail 1.jpg had been uploaded to Commons earlier. It's not exactly the same as what you uploaded. --Larryasou (talk) 06:40, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Larryasou Thank you for your explanations! I'm afraid I have not found the existing file while working on the article and so decided to upload the illustration. Is it possible to delete my Witches Well file? Than I'll try to find that already exising and to replace the photo in the article. As to the two files with Holland Park Gates - maybe it's still better to delete them as well (just in case)? I can re-upload them if the author answers me with formal permission.
