Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!
editYou are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.
Dear 5truenos,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.
Thanks,
-- Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 09:42, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Disney's Tarzan Logo in bw
editHi - it was just ready here. Don't you think this is the better version? -- MaxxL - talk 16:41, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, MaxxL. What I see on the image you sent me is that I think there are some details lost inside the letters (see the original logo). Eventually, I could vectorize it by myself, and the result is approximately what I expected, similar to other logos in black and white letters, and preserving as much details as possible. Greetings.--5truenos (talk) 23:34, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Struenos. I prefer to continue here to keep the context and sequence. Here you can see the real texture of the logo. Converting it into a 1-bit (b/w) image the loss of texture details is intended. As black and white is reduction of colour, the finer structures are reduced similarly. The benefit of abstraction is to make an image easier to grasp. Your present b/w-svg has in this respect far to many details as you requested "Tarzan's movie logo but only with the black letters in order to fulfil the simple geometric forms criteria." That's what I wanted to remark only. Greetings - -- MaxxL - talk 00:42, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
Creator or uploader - "My graphic creations" at your user page
editHi - i suppose you did not create those images. Most probably you converted the format or vectorized given images. True? -- MaxxL - talk 13:10, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi. Exactly, they are images vectorized by me from another images (created by other ones, but respecting the copyright, as far as I know). I wrote the title too many years ago, so I can change it if that is the problem. Greetings.--5truenos (talk) 22:52, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- The present tile sounds like you claim the authorship. As you did not create the subjects (signatures and logos) but kindly digitized/vectorized them you should alter the title accordingly. Greetings from MaxxL - talk 11:44, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Consultation
editHello, 5Truenos. I've had the chance to see some of your work, and I'm wondering if you could give me a hand on this one. I've traced it myself using Inkscape but I feel it didn't come up very well; I am not very good with the computer. Thank you, have a good evening. 7szz (talk) 00:24, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
Vectorize a signature
editHi, 5truenos! I've saw that you can vectorize signatures. If you have time and, if you want, I would like you to do me the favor of vectorizing the signature of the current president of the Court of Auditors of Spain. You can find her signature in this PDF (https://tcu.es/repositorio/1de04b3c-c408-43ab-8138-ea2b0abde7bb/M1511.pdf), page 93 (97 of the PDF). Thanks in advance.
