Hi! No need to reupload it - just transfer the enwiki file to Commons under a new name :-) --MGA73 (talk) 19:32, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oh. Perhaps not :-D I just noticed that the file on enwiki has no permission. It will probably be deleted. If you need to use the icon on enwiki I suggest to move the file on enwiki. --MGA73 (talk) 19:34, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Using jnlp edit
You said you couldn't find wikis.txt
- Several points. I have downloaded and installed Commons 0.4.17 on my Linux machines. I can find the wikis.txt file in /home/clemrutter/commonist 0.4.17/etc/.. . To locate it I could run the Search for Files.. tool in the Places Tab. The version you are using- is 0.4.23 and is run in a jnlp packet. I tried to do the same- but
- It won't let me upload to wikimedia:commons
- I can't find a copy of wikis.txt on my (local) machine
- So it looks as this way of using Commonist is a big no-no.
- Commons:Tools/Commonist will explain how to download and install java, and then Commonist. I hope this confirms that you are not going mad, and gives you a few leads for a way forward.
