Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Stop
editHi Altrochebit, stop emptying and deleting other user's comments in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Dettaglio, il Grande Mare.jpg. If you want this file no longer be deleted, you can add a comment to the DR. But, deleting an ongoing discussion is not acceptable. --Túrelio (talk) 18:11, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Túrelio, I didn't want to delete the thread, I was trying to delete the files that I don't want to keep among my uploads, sorry.
- I believe that the files meet the criteria for immediate deletion. Altrochebit (talk) 18:24, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Speedy deletion as requested by the original uploader is o.k. within 7 days after upload, but not 1 year later, as in your case. Remember, you donated these images to the public by releasing them under a free license, which is considered to be formally non-revokable. So, per our policy a regular DR is required in such cases. I've therefore restored the DR-template in the 4 speedy-tagged file. As you suddenly mentioned "privacy", I've removed the line "Photo editing carried out on 2022-05-04 at a private home, 84081 Baronissi (SA), Italy. Digital art, author Andrea Novello" from the description, assuming that was what you concerned.--Túrelio (talk) 09:33, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- Good morning to you Túrelio, I am aware of the conditions of the licenses! However, I didn't know about the request times for deletion procedures, that's why yesterday I used the tag again for the quick deletion procedure adding "A violation of privacy policy" as a reason, not for anything else. Instead, apparently I should have used the tag for the ordinary deletion procedure and followed the instructions of the DR template. So, thank you for restoring the template for original deletion requests, and for your kind attention, be seeing you soon. Altrochebit (talk) 15:15, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

File:L'onda Smart saluta il Sole.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

You are blocked for one day
editYou have already been warned not to remove text from pages that discuss deleting files. If your file is listed for deletion, you can make your case for keeping it in the proper place, but do not delete the discussion or remove the template yourself. Due to repeated violation, your access to Wikimedia Commons is blocked for one day. After the blocking ends, I recommend that you follow the rules more carefully. Andrei Romanenko (talk) 12:29, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Андрей Романенко, forgive my inexperience, I don't know all the Wikimedia commons rules yet. In any case, could you be kind enough to cancel the request to delete the file: Guarantor Authority for the Protection of Personal Data or GDPR.jpeg
- as already mentioned, I want to keep this file between my uploads
- Andrea Novello (talk) 12:50, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Андрей Романенко, I read your e-mail,
- I am aware that Wikimedia Commons is not intended to satisfy the wishes of its users... in fact, in my case my will must also be respected, beyond the educational value of the file: Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali o GDPR.jpg ... In addition, I personally think that respecting people's right to privacy is very important, and that my file: Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali o GDPR.jpg has a great educational value. In fact, personally, i express my will to keep the file: Authority for the Protection of Personal Data or GDPR.jpg among my uploads, precisely because of its educational value, as I believe respect for people's right to privacy is very important, and we will have the opportunity to discuss it after the blocking period is over. Andrea Novello (talk) 18:33, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Андрей Романенко,
- As promised, I contact you to express my will to keep the file: Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali o GDPR.jpg among my uploads, precisely because of its educational value, as I believe respect for people's right to privacy, and respect for human dignity and fundamental human rights and freedoms is very important. For this reason, I formally request that you undo the deletion of the file: Autorità Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali o GDPR.jpg Andrea Novello (talk) 18:20, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
