Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Prosba o zařazování obrázků do kategorií

Děkuji Vám za nahrávání obrázků kulturních památek v rámci soutěže Wiki Loves Monuments 2013. V této souvislosti bych Vás chtěl poprosit, abyste v případě kdy nahráváte několik obrázků téže kulturní památky při nahrávání založil na coommons rovněž příslušnou kategorii pro tuto památku. Pro příklad řazení kategorií se můžete podívat na kategorie, které jsem vytvořil pro kulturní památky z Liberce - např u fotografie Rohový_dům_2.jpg . Dobrý den. Díky za každoroční přísun nových fotek, zrovna se zabývám těmi z Liberce.

Díky také, že se snažíte zakládat kategorii, pokud nahrajete více fotek jedné památky. Pokud už se trochu orientujete v tom, jak se kategorie zakládá a jak se editují stránky, můžete zkusit ještě pomoci tím, že na stránku nově založené kategorie zkopírujete ze stránky obrázku ještě popis (název a adresu památky), šablonu s identifikačním kódem památky a nadřazenou kategorii, do které byla fotka zařazena. Pokud například založíte kategorii některého libereckého domu, celá ta kategorie by měla být zařazena do přinejmenším kategorie kulturních památek v Liberci, aby ji tam bylo možné nalézt. Pokud si s tím nebudete vědět rady nebo by vás to neúměrně zdržovalo od nahrávání fotek, nechci vás do toho tlačit, on by to časem někdo doplnil, ale bude to vítaná pomoc.

 Zdravím,

díky za zprávu. Kategorii jsem včera (konečně) pochopila, dokonce se mi podařilo zařadit už přidanou fotku do další kategorie, to bylo radosti:-) S těmi šablonami to zkusím, kdyžtak prosím příležitostně o kontrolu, jestli je to dělám správně. První pokus - krucifix Na Perštýně v Liberci. Hezký den, Anny32

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
