Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Olá Bapuji, o facto de seres o proprietário do livro não altera em nada o copyright da imagem. Tens de procurar no interior se há alguma nota sobre o autor dessa ilustração, e colocar essa informação ali. Boa noite Darwin, sim, fui eu que fiz as outras fotos todas, confirmo. Sou de Cortes, Leiria, em Portugal, e a maior parte das fotos são da minha aldeia ou têm a ver com o patrimònio local, regional ou nacional.

Não hà indicação sobre quem fez o desenho no interior do livro que comprei. Telefonei à casa-museu Afonso Lopes Vieira e eles indicaram-me que o desenho era do autor ele pròprio. Representa, segundo consta, a parte esquerda da varanda da casa dele em São Pedro de Moel, Leiria, Portugal. O livro foi publicado em 1940. O autor faleceu em 1946 sem filhos. Fez a doação dos bens, livros, direitos e casas à Câmara Municipal de Leiria. Não sei se tenho de contactar a Câmara para perguntar se posso publicar a foto da capa do livro ou se està tudo certo deste modo ? Deixe-me informado sobre o que devo fazer e as modalidades que devo seguir.

Olá Alexandre, as fotos são óptimas, por isso quis que ficasse registado aqui que é o autor delas, já que o nome na atribuição é diferente do nome de usuário, e de vez em quando há alguém que pega com isso. Se os direitos do escritor pertencem à Câmara Municipal de Leiria, pode pedir-lhes permissão para publicar o desenho sob uma licença livre ou coloca-lo no domínio público, o que não deve ser difícil de conseguir, uma vez que é do interesse deles (divulgação de uma personalidade do concelho), e de todo o modo esses direitos expiram daqui a 5 anos, por isso não é nada de exagerado que os concedam um pouco antes.
