FILE:I_DREAMED_THE_OFFICE.jpg and other recent uploads.Edit

This work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 70 years or less.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 70 years: Mexico has 100 years, Jamaica has 95 years, Colombia has 80 years, and Guatemala and Samoa have 75 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term. Côte d'Ivoire has a general copyright term of 99 years and Honduras has 75 years, but they do implement the rule of the shorter term. Copyright may extend on works created by French who died for France in World War II (more information), Russians who served in the Eastern Front of World War II (known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia) and posthumously rehabilitated victims of Soviet repressions (more information).

This file has been identified as being free of known restrictions under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights.

Hello Bfoster333, Please add {{PD-old}} to the license section of the images, if it applies. Thanks! --RE RILLKE Questions? 14:11, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Please notify User talk:Dodo; he added an auto-deletion template (no license) to your images. This may be removed by himself now. (if the author is really ...) Thank you. --RE RILLKE Questions? 18:22, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
I am not an admin here. Just a normal user. --RE RILLKE Questions? 23:12, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Maurice_002.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS ( This also applies if you are the author yourself.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, and Commons:Permission if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own.

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the OTRS-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Maurice_002.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

(talk, So what exactly do you need? I'm getting a copy of the release from the creator as we speak.

Additional information neededEdit

I changed "no license" to "no source": how can we verify those images were created/first published in 1922? Regards. --Dodo (talk) 19:37, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Steps to take?Edit

No source is probably better, the verification is going to be almost impossible. All I know is they were created by an Ad Agency that no longer exists in the 20's but weren't published till the 40's. Everyone and their mother has the ability to use these, and does.

Hello Bfoster333,

the following content you uploaded is not free and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:

File:Janie Bryant1jpg.jpg

The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files which can be used for any purpose, including:

  • use in any work, regardless of content
  • creation of derivative works
  • commercial use
  • free distribution

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.

Please make sure that you only upload works you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.

A non-exclusive permission given to someone else does not allow to give the image to others. See Commons:Project scope#Required licensing terms. --Martin H. (talk) 13:04, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
