Hi, why did you speedy-tag this image? It looks perfectly well to me. As it does not qualify for G7-speedy, it would need to go through regular DR. --Túrelio (talk) 10:37, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

The reason I wanted this image deleted is because I forgot that I had already uploaded this image several months earlier, using a different file name for the image. The earlier upload was named "PoaPratensis2.jpg", and that version can be retained. I sent an email to Wikimedia requesting that this and eight other duplicate Poa images of mine be deleted, and a Wikimedia expert wrote back to me and said I should put the template "{{SD|G7}}" on the photo's page. I've done this only for this one image ("PoaP1.jpg") so far, just to see what happens, because I've never asked for any of my photos to be deleted until now. If my request for this image deletion succeeds I'll then do it for the other eight duplicate images I uploaded. DouglasGoldman (talk) 18:38, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
The template I wrote above got cut out for some reason. It was an SD G7 template. DouglasGoldman (talk) 18:41, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok. 1) The G7-template got removed or deactivated as the file does not qualify for G7, as this is allowed only for the first 7 days after upload. 2) Per the 1st sentence in your 1st reply above there is another way for speedy-deletion. What you describe opens the way for duplicate deletion. However, you need to provide the filename of the identical copy that you want to keep. So, identify the "good version" for the above mentioned 9 images and then put the following code on the page of the image you want to have deleted {{duplicate|filename-of-"good"-image}}. --Túrelio (talk) 19:20, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

File:PoaP1.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
