Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Non so che cosa dirti. Forse non avevi messo la licenza e qualche admin ha deciso per una cancellazione immediata. Per quello che ne so non c'è modo di recuperare informazioni per immagini cancellate. -- Luigi Chiesa 20:23, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Scusami ma non riesco a capire che cosa significa che era di proprietà di wikipedia, le licenze devono essere segnalate con un tag (quelli tra parentesi graffe) e non con del semplice testo. Se conteneva il logo di wikipedia può darsi che venga interpretato come copyviol visto che è un immagine copyright. -- Luigi Chiesa 20:33, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Non so proprio cosa consigliarti, se è stato cancellato senza comunicazioni vuol dire che era considerato sicuramente copyviol. In effetti qualunque licenza tu utilizzi permette le opere derivate quindi se fai un taglio dell'immagine con il logo ottieni un'immagine teoricamente free ma con soggetto copyright. Prova a cancellare il logo e utilizza una licenza GFDL. -- Luigi Chiesa 21:05, 5 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ciao! Ti volevo chiedere gentilmente due cose:

Cerca sempre di inserire almeno una categoria nei file che carichi, per esempio: [[Category:Pescara]] (oggi ho inserito questa categoria in 117 immagine che avevi caricato)
Perché non trasferisci il contenuto di User:Freegiampi/Pescara a Pescara? Non bisogna cancellare la tua galleria, ma sarebbe interessante che la pagina di Pescara avesse anche le tue foto.

1) Se il caso è dubbio, si apre una procedura di cancellazione con dibattito (aggiungendo il template {{delete}}), e si vota. La maggioranza decide se tenere o no la foto. Se il caso non è dubbio, come nel caso di immagini ritraenti opere coperte da copyright (il tuo), si segnala la cosa agli adm (aggiungendo il template {{copyvio}}, che cancellano con procedura urgente. In entrambi i casi la cancellazione, fisicamente, la può fare solo un amministratore (io non lo sono).
2) Ovviamente se un'opera è protetta da copyright anche dettagli dell'opera stesso lo sono, dato che sono proprio i dettagli a fare di un edificio QUELLO specifico edificio... A meno che si tratti di dettagli talmente irrilevanti (un muro usato come sfondo) da non renderla riconoscibile per quel che è. Ma in tal caso la foto non ha piu' un valore enciclopedico...

Se tu conosci gli architetti, mi permetto di suggerirti di chiedere loro il permesso di pubblicazione (che deve essere scritto, non ne basta uno verbale). Nelle realtà di provincia spesso ci si conosce tutti ed i rapporti umani funzionano ancora, quindi la possibilità che il permesso ti venga concesso, e gratis, sono elevate. Tool per la gestione immagini

Ciao... ti disturbo perché vedo che sei molto attivo nella zona dell' Abruzzo qui e anche su wikipedia IT e spesso contatto le utenze italiane o italocentriche con una certa passione per le voci e le immagini locali sulle piattaforme.

Sto infatti portando avanti una campagna di sensibilizzazione delle utenze all'uso di tool (strumenti) specifici per la gestione immagini. Punto infatti a migliorare la copertura delle immagini presenti e segnalare bene le evntuali mancanze. Ci sono alcuni strumenti per fare questo, anche se un po' frammentati.
