Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open! edit

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Gbuvn,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Threshold line with R edit

Hi, howdy? What's the code you use in R for depicting a threshold line like the one you used at File:Opinion polls Baden-Württemberg 2021.svg? Thanks! Impru20 (talk) 19:26, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, you can use this line:
geom_segment(aes(x=as.Date(startdate), xend=as.Date(enddate), y=5, yend=5), color='#666666bb', linetype='dashed')+
You can add it after the geom_vline lines for example. --Gbuvn (talk) 19:43, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Did it, and it worked. Great response as always. Thanks! ;) Impru20 (talk) 20:02, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Électoral Map for swiss federal elections edit

Hello, Can you tell me with what tool you produced the electoral map for the 2019 Swiss federal elections? Thank you. Paul Dufour User : LR-MR-PLR LR-MR-PLR (talk) 08:54, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, it's made in Inkscape completely. --Gbuvn (talk) 11:50, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Okay ! Thank you. But, we do everything with this software (no need for extensions) ? LR-MR-PLR (talk) 13:26, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you point me to a tutorial to do it please? Could you tell me where you find the files to edit etc. Thank you in advance ! LR-MR-PLR (talk) 14:49, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

You can just download the svg file here and open it in Inkscape if you want to edit the map. If you're more specific about what you want to do, I can point out some steps that I follow. If you want to create a map for another country, you'll need to find svg maps for that first, you might find some in Commons as well. --Gbuvn (talk) 23:18, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I saw your nice polls LOESS graph for the next German election! I like them very much and I think they would be good in the case of Slovakia as well. However, I am not very experienced in this program, I do not know how to work with it at all. Therefore, I wanted to ask you very nicely, if you would make such a graph for Slovakia as well. Thank you very muchǃ --Igec133 (talk) 12:54, 17 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I could do that but I'm usually hesitant with replacing existing Graph:chart modules since users who maintain these will often argue against the replacement and undo the changes. But I will make such a graph if you could first establish a consensus on the talk page. --Gbuvn (talk) 15:26, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ukraine graph edit

Hello, can you make a graph for the next Ukrainian parliamentary election? Now we have some graph in the article "Opinion polling for the next Ukrainian parliamentary election, but it is incorrect: all polls are taken, while it is more appropriate to use only polls of members of the Sociological Association of Ukraine - Razumkov Centre, Rating, KIIS, SOCIS, SMC and Info Sapiens (only their results are used in the Ukrainian version of the article), because there is a noticeable tendency that opinion polls of non-members of the SAU increase the results of the pro-Russian parties, and the creator of the graph is Russian. Also current graph has incorrect colors of parties - for example, the colors of YeS and pro-Russian OPZZh have changed places, which can confuse viewers (the correct colors of the parties are in the article Module: Political party). It has also incorrect order of parties on the right and some of their abbrevs (all the correct abbrevs are on the articles of each party, only Batkivshchyna, Holos, Svoboda and Nashi do not need abbrevs). There is also no new party Smart Politics (RP) in the current graph. It would be very good if you created a graph for Ukraine, it would definitely benefit the Ukrainian Wikipedia and Wikipedia in general. Block baby (talk) 17:02, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure what the point of completely recreating the graph would be. User:PLATEL already uses my chart template as you can see in the description, if you think there are minor issues with his implementation, you should probably direct your concerns to him. Additionally, I would disagree that certain pollsters are left out unless you can find a consensus to remove those from the page entirely. --Gbuvn (talk) 11:11, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I entered into the database all the polls listed on the polls page. If you do not like individual polls, then agree to remove them from the in the talk.
In case these polls are removed, I will update the graph. I will update the graph in early January anyway, and I will swap the OPZZh and the ES colors. PLATEL (talk) 11:19, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Issue with polling graph edit

I've created another issue on Gitlab about the fact that it doesn't record poll values that are less than 1.

Here's the message repeated again:

I was making a graph of 2017-2019 UK polling when I noticed that points where the poll that are less than 1 do not show up.
I tried working around this by setting each instance of 0 with a really low decimal, but it does not show either, along with a point that is equal to 0.5.

BSMIsEditing (talk) 07:17, 22 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi BSM, I added a reply on Gitlab. Hope this solves your problem. Gbuvn (talk) 10:47, 23 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Graphical summary edit

Hi Gbuvn. My name is Jurajec6 and I am user involved mainly in the Slovak politics. I saw that you uploaded a great graphical summary for the next German parliamentary elections. The article with polls for the next Slovak parliamentary election currently lacks such a graphical summary. Since I'm not experienced in creating and editing graphs outside of Wikipedia, I can't change it. But I really like your work. So I just wanted to say and ask if you could create a similar one for Slovakia if you were bored, or at least give us your know-how.

Best regards! Jurajec6 (talk) 22:19, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Next Swiss Election Polls edit

Hi Gbuvn! I absolutely love the graphs you produce for wikipedia, but I was wondering if for the next swiss election if it would be better to change the BDP/PBD colour to its customary black so that it is easier to distinguish from the EVP/PEV?

Kind regards! CoaxAndBotany (talk) 11:12, 11 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Opinion polls NL 2021-2023.svg edit

Hello, I left a message on its discussion page as well, but in case you weren't notified: please note that BVNL isn't represented on the (otherwise excellent) graph. --NFSreloaded (talk) 13:09, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Opinion polls Germany edit

Hi, I see you edit the graph about next German federal election. I would like to note, that BSW - Reason and Justice, that now is a party, is not seen at the graph. I think it's a quite popular party, and it is counted on several polls, while in my opinion it should be contained in all polls (but this concerns the German polling firms, not me...). Anyway, i think you have to add that party at the graph. Thank you! Greek Rebel (talk) 13:50, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Due to it having been founded very recently, there were too few polling data to draw a reasonable trend line. I added BSW today after the most recent poll – Still looks weird though. Gbuvn (talk) 21:52, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
