Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Please use sub-categories

When categorising files, please avoid placing them into several categories that are directly linked within the same tree (e.g. a parent category and a child category – like Category:United Kingdom and Category:London), to prevent over-categorization of files and over-population of categories. Usually, only the most specific category should be used. See Commons:Categories for more details. Thank you.

撮影日が異なる画像の上書きについて

ですが、撮影日が異なる写真を既存のファイルに上書きするのは原則として禁止されています。ファイルの概要欄には最初の画像の撮影日14 mei 2017, 16:04:49、14 mei 2017, 16:05:41となっていて（どちらも既に修正済みですが）、上書きするとこれらの日付表示が無意味になります。また画像によっては他の編集者によって最初の画像に基づくカテゴリ付けがなされている場合もあり、それも無意味となってしまいます。この画像のほかにも何枚か同じような例がありましたので、ご注意申し上げます。自分で撮影された古い画像が気に入らない場合でも、新たに撮ったものは別のファイルとしてアップロードし、必要ならば古い画像は削除依頼をするようにして下さい。削除依頼は日本語でも可能です。新しい画像の存在により完全に不要と認められれば削除してもらえる場合もあります。よろしくお願い致します。--トトト (talk) 21:12, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

写真の比率

多くの駅で写真を投稿されているようですが、なぜ写真の縦横比率が3×2でなく横に細長いのでしょうか。既存の多くの写真と規格が合っていないので、天地がずれて表示されてます。--180.11.48.22 07:02, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

まず、横に長いのは恐らく私が撮影に使用しているカメラの仕様ではないかと思います。また、私の場合は画像を投稿する前にPhotoshopを使用して明るさや傾き、トリミングなどの編集を実施して投稿しております。また、日本語版Wikipediaでは、Wikipedia:百科事典向け写真撮影のガイドでは、画像投稿時のポイントとなるようなものが明記されております。

確かに多くの写真と規格は合わないのは承知していますが、日本語版Wikipediaでは画像投稿時のガイドラインがあるため、それに従っている次第です。なお、私以外にも[上野駅の写真]のように、横に細長い画像を投稿されている方がいらっしゃいます。--Mister0124 (talk) 07:27, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

比率が異なっているのはカメラの仕様ではなく、単にカメラで一般的な比率への設定をされていないからです。3×2は写真を印刷したり他媒体で使用する際の基本形なので、どのカメラも設定→画像サイズ→縦横比などの項目で設定が出来るはずですし、万が一そうでなくともPhotoshopならば確実に比率を変更し揃える事が出来ます。他の一部の方が規格が合っていない写真を上げているから良い。ではなく、Mister0124さんが昨今大量に16×9サイズの画像を上げられて、各所で揃っていたはずの画像レイアウトが乱れてきているのを少し問題視しています。現状ガイドラインに比率の明確な決まりはありませんが、他の人達が基準に則って揃えてきたであろう記事の見た目が不揃いになる事を懸念してお伝えしました。--180.11.48.22 15:50, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

 Comment こんばんは。ご指摘ありがとうございます。仰る通り、私がガラス越しに映っていましたね。全く気が付きませんでした…。先ほど、顔が映った部分にモザイク加工したものを上書き形式でアップロードしました。後ほど確認いただければと思います（修正版の反映には少し時間を要する可能性もありますので、暫く待機しても反映されないようでしたらご教授ください）。--Mister0124 (talk) 14:43, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

 Comment さっそく対応していただいてありがとうございます。さきほど気づいたのですが、File:JR Iiyama Line Doichi Station building.jpgも同じような感じで映り込んでいます。もしかしたら他にもMister0124さんがアップロードされた駅舎画像で正面から撮影されたものに関しては映り込みがあるかもしれませんので、ご自身で確認をされることをおすすめします。（画像が高画像度になるとプライバシーにより一層注意を払わないといけないといけないと考えており、車のナンバーが判別できないか、人の顔が誰か判別できるようになっていないか、など、自分でも気をつけるようにしています。ボクは被写体を撮る際には自身が映り込まないように確認しています。そのため反射すると考えられるもの（例えば駅舎など）に対しては写真を正面から撮らないようにしています。）--Tail furry (talk) 15:10, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

 Comment 再度ご指摘いただきありがとうございます。File:JR Iiyama Line Doichi Station building.jpgはともかく、File:JR Iiyama Line Uchigamaki Station building.jpgにも私がガラス越しで映っていたため、先ほどモザイク加工を実施いたしました（反映には暫く時間がかかるものと思います）。

今回の件を教訓に、JR東日本の路線（上越線全駅、吾妻線全駅、信越本線（直江津 - 新潟間）、飯山線全駅、只見線（大白川 - 小出間）、越後線（柏崎 - 内野西が丘間）、弥彦線全駅）、北しなの線全駅、妙高はねうまライン全駅についても確認しましたが、File:JR Iiyama Line Echigo-Mizusawa Station building.jpg、File:JR Iiyama Line Doichi Station building.jpg、File:JR Iiyama Line Uchigamaki Station building.jpg以外では、ざっと見た限りでは特に見受けられませんでした。私自身も利用者や車のナンバープレートが明らかに映ってしまっている箇所はモザイク加工はかけていましたが、ガラス越しについては落とし穴がありましたね（もちろんモザイク加工して投稿していた画像もありましたが、時々忘れてしまうこともあるようです）。

また、駅に掲示されているポスター類も人が映ってしまっているものについてはモザイク加工しております（これについては扱いが微妙かもしれませんが。中には加工せずに投稿される利用者もいらっしゃいます）。駅舎のレイアウトですが、確かにガラス反射しないように配慮するのは良いアイディアかもしれませんね（実際に、斜めから撮影されたほうが駅舎の形が分かりやすいという印象を持たれる方もいらっしゃるようです。もちろん、その駅の現地の状況によって（中には木などが映りこんだりするため）レイアウトを臨機応変に対応したというのもありました）。

一応まだ画像編集を済んでいないもの、既に済んでいるものがあるため、改めてガラス越しの部分も確認してから投稿するようにいたします。今後ともよろしくお願いいたします。--Mister0124 (talk) 13:09, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for contacting us. Regarding the requested photos, all of them have already been taken and edited. However, when I sent this reply, I was out and could not post the image. Therefore, I think that images can be posted to Commons at the earliest after 20:00 on February 28, Japan time. Humbly thank you for your understanding.

Also, the sections listed below have been shot, but the editing work has not been completed yet.

• Mito Line (between Oyama and Tomobe)
• Nikko Line (between Utsunomiya and Nikko)
• Hachiko Line (between Komagawa and Kuragano)
