Notification about possible deletion

edit

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content, Michael repoulis, was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at educational media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. The expression “educational” is to be understood according to its broad meaning of “providing knowledge; instructional or informative”. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote. If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. Otherwise, consider an alternative outlet. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding.

Commons scope

edit

I’ve deleted all the files uploaded by you through this account and the undeclared second account (which is now blocked from editing here). You’ve had a couple of notices about not continuing to upload such files. Your account is also blocked on English Wikipedia for spamming. I am both a Commons administrator and a Wikimedia steward. In the Commons capacity I could block your account from further editing. In the steward capacity I could lock your account from editing on any Wikimedia wiki. However, I’m willing to give you two options:

  • Option 1 Follow our community policies and guidelines permanently;
  • Option 2 Be blocked from any future Wikimedia activities

You don’t even have to reply to this post. Cooperative conduct will be taken as acknowledgement of this post. -Green Giant (talk) 16:49, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Green Giant: The user appears to have chosen Option 2 in showing his inability to string four tildes together while communicating with others. Look at the messes he left on my user talk page and the help desk today.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 23:26, 30 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Click the "Signature and timestamp"-button to sign your talkpage contributions
As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.
