Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Moved file to enWS

The upload of Wright's book was going to be problematic here at Commons. The author died in 1947 which means that the work is not out of copyright in the UK, though it is out of copyright in the US. At enWS it will be fine, and in 2018 we will move the file back from there to here.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:24, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry that the upload caused problems, it wasn't intentionally - as a new user, I firstly looked into the Wikisource help and copyright status at the Internet Archives (where the scan is from) but apparently not well enough into that one at Commons. I'll try to double check the copyright situation for similar works in the future before uploading them to Commons. Vivrax (talk) 17:13, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Overwriting with retouched images

I noticed for a couple images that you uploaded a substantial retouch which overwrote an existing image. Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor, uncontroversial corrections, so I reverted to its previous version. However, please do upload it again under a different name. For more information, please see Commons:Overwriting files.

No need to re-upload, I'm splitting the retouched versions apart (on Djr's request). Please just don't overwrite, it needs manual fixage. Thanks. Revent (talk) 19:37, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
