Nauka module and ERA mission edit

hello ericsoares3. i saw you asked katlingrey to upload a nauka image on wikimedia commons e which she did as seen here https://twitter.com/katlinegrey/status/1416584016828977156 can you do a favour and ask her to upload the nauka mission launch logo to wikimedia commons http://en.roscosmos.ru/22220/ i uploaded that but it was removed due to copyright violation. i will be thankful if you do so through or even possible by others. Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:50, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi @Chinakpradhan: ! Do you have the link of the deletion discussion of the patch? I'm asking because at first I do believe that it would fall in the same category of the Soyuz patchs, but I may wrong. Erick Soares3 (talk) 12:46, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

The thing I did wrong was thinking the licence to be

This work is not an object of copyright according to article 1259 of Book IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation No. 230-FZ of December 18, 2006.

Shall not be objects of copyright:

  • official documents of state government agencies and local government agencies of municipal formations, including laws, other legal texts, judicial decisions, other materials of legislative, administrative and judicial character, official documents of international organizations, as well as their official translations;
  • state symbols and signs (flags, emblems, orders, any forms of money, and the like), as well as symbols and signs of municipal formations;
  • works of folk art (folklore), which don't have specific authors;
  • news reports on events and facts, which have a purely informational character (daily news reports, television programs, transportation schedules, and the like).

Comment – This license tag is also applicable to official documents, state symbols and signs of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (union level[1]).

Warning – This license tag is not applicable to drafts of official documents, proposed official symbols and signs, which can be copyrighted.

Warning – This Russian official document, state symbol or sign (postage stamps, coins and banknotes mainly) may incorporate one or more works that can be copyrightable if separated from this document, symbol or sign. In such a case, this work is not an object of copyright if reused in its entirety but, at the same time, extracting specific portions from this work could constitute copyright infringement. For example, the denomination and country name must be preserved on postage stamps.

  1. Official documents, state symbols and signs of 14 other Soviet Republics are the subject of law of their legal successors. See respective license tags.

. So it was deleted immediately Chinakpradhan (talk) 14:32, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , I think that the only way is to question who deleted the archive on why this patch can't be here while the Soyuz patches can. Erick Soares3 (talk) 14:50, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Yes, and that's the thing with soyuz ms 20 patchChinakpradhan (talk) 15:12, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , all the Soyuz patches are supposed to be PD-RU-exempt|type=logos and emblems. Erick Soares3 (talk) 16:08, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Don't know why he targeted nauka image only Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:26, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Is there a potential way to revive what is lost when an image is deleted Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:27, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Till now I knew that I can use page history to revive but don't know in case of a removed page and for that licensing you told in short I used that only in my pageChinakpradhan (talk) 17:28, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , I think that the best would to explain the copyright issue here (what happened and why the Nauka patch isn't allowed when the Soyuz are) and then bring a undeletion request. Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:54, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
the discussion with him is everlasting i have a idea to end the conflicts.
can you do a favour, ask katlinegrey or someone else to upload a image that shows the nauka's proton rocket in vertical position and where the logo can be seen clearly an we can use wikimedia crop tool to crop the image thereby extracting the logo from that image.
https://croptool.toolforge.org/?
the rocket is white in colour so after cropping no problem will occur. this will clear the conflict on violation of laws since the image will have creative commons liscence the one that the nauka roll out image has. this will ultimately end this conflict
or i also saw a good example on twitter. the third image in tweet by space shuttle alamac which can be rotated or even cropped to extract the logo

Chinakpradhan (talk) 03:05, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

thanks for your helping the issue is resolved with that man.Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:40, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
just one something to ask what to do about my patch its dissapointing that it may be restored after nauka has launched. what must be good waiting for restoration or reupload the image. how the undeletion request as i have not gotten a reply since i post the request in the morning. the launch is just 2 days to go.Chinakpradhan (talk) 13:52, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
@Chinakpradhan: , if it will be restored, is just to wait a bit. Now I'm concerned about this odd argument in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Soyuz MS-20 Mission Patch.png. The Commons always allowed the Soyuz patchs, so I don't know the problem here. Erick Soares3 (talk) 15:59, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

from my side i have done what can be done. lets see andry's mindChinakpradhan (talk) 16:00, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: Is more like if the Commons administrators (and the users, since it may turn into a voting) agrees or not - but it may take from some days to several months. Erick Soares3 (talk) 16:48, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
@Ankry: says that first he will discussion on your dr then think about my udr. so for my one i have to wait a lot and not possible before launch

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Ankry#Nauka_Module_Launch_Mission_Patch.jpg_and_others Chinakpradhan (talk) 04:55, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Can't wait anymore using fair use policy. Seeing this I was too disappointed why I waited for wikimedian administrators https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NS-16_logo.png Chinakpradhan (talk) 14:49, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

can you ans one question. can find out the immediate source of european robotic arm patch , the first place where it was published. i have found out one https://esamultimedia.esa.int/docs/science/ERA_brochure_EN.pdf but dont think as the immediate source. so please find it for me. Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:00, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

The ESA stuff is noncommercial. Erick Soares3 (talk) 15:52, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

i know that. almost all esa medias are non-commercial. i need the exact source only. you gave me the guidelines. please give the source.Chinakpradhan (talk) 03:58, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

I tried to look in the site (since it is the best source), but seems that they don't have it. Erick Soares3 (talk) 14:28, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Ok same here also but please tell if the pdf link is satisfactory or not Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:24, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Only in a non-free way, due "© 2021 European Space Agency" in the last page. Erick Soares3 (talk) 18:28, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Actually I needed just the non free source I have published it by fair use in Wikipedia just confused for source https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:European_Robotic_Arm_(ERA)_Launch_Mission_Patch.png#mw-jump-to-license Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:43, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

BTW, I needed to ask if images shown in nasa live stream for nauka docking free lisenced by nasa or is under that logo controversial

I want to end the topic with its images after docking. If it is under that lisence or any sort of non commercial things please ask someone to add the media files to commons Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:49, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ISS-65_Pirs_docking_compartment_separates_from_the_Space_Station.jpg#mw-jump-to-license Take this file as example Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:57, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

thumb I think I wrong image see two science experiment airlock can be seen can it be fixed Chinakpradhan (talk) 19:06, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

One is on nauka and other is on rassvet Chinakpradhan (talk) 19:06, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

https://blogs.nasa.gov/spacestation/2021/07/29/new-module-successfully-docks-to-space-station/ Even see this is wrong stating nauka docked to poisk Chinakpradhan (talk) 19:09, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , the images streamed by NASA TV (like in the link) should be OK here, but any images from Roscosmos transmitted by NASA TV would be in the Russian copyright. Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:23, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Ok Chinakpradhan (talk) 19:24, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Is there a solution for ISS visiting vehicles pic Chinakpradhan (talk) 19:25, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

For me, I don't think that there's anything to do beyond using the NASA source. If it is wrong, they should update it. Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:41, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

please ask anatoly Zak or katelinegrey in twitter, the are main criticizers or russian things, they will answer it. Chinakpradhan (talk) 08:38, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

I asked katelinegrey days ago and she didn't replied. Is almost impossible to contact Anatatoly. Since the question is Copyright, the adms from Commons:Village pump/Copyright should know how to explain better. Erick Soares3 (talk) 12:54, 30 July 2021 (UTC)

But just i am asking that can Wikimedia get some prichal images without violation of laws and help of these critics like katlinegrey since all images are uploaded by roscosmos to internet even the structure is indirectly shown in the prichal page. I asked since almost all minds are now shifted from nauka to prichal and I see the prichal page almost medialess. Chinakpradhan (talk) 09:17, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Prichal is attracted my many by recent tweets as many don't want it to be as dangerous as nauka and so images uploaded might intensify the craze Chinakpradhan (talk) 09:22, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Roscosmos is the owner of the images. If someday, someone like katelinegrey travels to where they are building it and photograph, they may upload it to Commons. The launch is 3 months from now, so, there's some time. Erick Soares3 (talk) 12:58, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

okChinakpradhan (talk) 15:16, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

oh my good i am shocked. how i predicted what topic will be raised by anatoly zak. https://twitter.com/RussianSpaceWeb/status/1422159097143697409 he says it is clearly nasa's fault. i saw him saying some right things to be wrong that is about progress cargo freighter ms-17, that saying it 78 is wrong. Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:04, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Let's see if NASA will do something or if they are going to wait until the next dock/undocking. Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:09, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

by the way, is publish this image by anatoly illegal. if not it can be used to differentiate things that might be faced by viewers in wikipedia. if not then tell if it is good image in your opinion? i might post it with the things written by myself and that to in white texts and yellow arrow head lines if it is valuable to wikipedia.Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:04, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

From Russian Space Web: "No part of this publication can be reproduced, copied or distributed in any form without written permission from the publisher." Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:14, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

oh i see!! then i am using just the labels in twisted form as a efn noteChinakpradhan (talk) 17:35, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

This also falls in the fact that the images from Soviet/Russian space program isn't public domain like NASA. As you may see in here, much of the pre-ISS Soyuz missions need an crew image. Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:40, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

what! do you meant the above said for the use of image labels. Chinakpradhan (talk) 17:50, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

You need to rewrite the labels the best you can, or is copyright infringement. Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:55, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

see if my efforts for description section were as needed to be saved from copyright infringement. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Visiting_Vehicle_Launches,_Arrivals_and_Departures.png#%7B%7Bint%3Afiledesc%7D%7D asist me if you can in this situation.Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:09, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

What is the source of the description? Erick Soares3 (talk) 18:19, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

is source needed to be given. done a case study of that tweet and used those labels in as said twisted form. Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:27, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

all written in own words Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:28, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

At least cite the tweet, to know from where this information is from. Erick Soares3 (talk) 18:45, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

yes nasa corrected the iss imageChinakpradhan (talk) 15:05, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Can you voice in this discussion Chinakpradhan (talk) 02:55, 14 August 2021 (UTC)

Spacex Crew 3/ Inspiration4 edit

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SpaceX_Crew-3_crew_Patch.jpg

I uploaded this image to wikipedia under fair use policy for default till official image comes like you have noticed what I did for Boeing cft crew the day before yesterday

But the thing is , this

https://www.flickr.com/photos/matthiasmaurer/51359655367/in/photolist-2mftEcr-2mfpT16-2mfpyjJ-2mftAsW-2mfjyCU-2mftAr3-2mfopFr-2mfopEe-2mftAjj-2mfjyu2-2mfsa88-2mfsa1V-2mfs9XD-2mfpxKT-2mfooWL-2mfs9Ds-2mftzxj-2mfooQD-2mfooLL-2mfpxj7-2mftAgP-2mfpy6N-2mftAdT-2mfjyoA-2mftAaw-2mftA8x-2mfopqS-2mfopq6-2mfsa7r-2mfsa6j-2mfjyfp-2mftA25-2mfjycU-2mfophW-2mfs9Yv-2mfjy9n-2mfjy7J-2mfopcA-2mfs9SD-2mfs9NA-2mfpxGm-2mfpxFj-2mfop5b-2mfpxDL-2mftzGc-2mfop1U-2mfpxAK-2mfpxyR-2mfjxKr-2mftzsz

Is the official image that has just arrived. It has credit line NASA/ESA not ESA/NASA so as per PD-notice published for NASA images but the thing is Wikimedia is saying

The file is under the following license on the source site "Flickr": Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License. Unfortunately, this wiki does not allow that license.

Main thing is I want it like this File:SpaceX Crew-2 crew.jpg But not finding correct way So please tell me the Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:42, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Way Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:43, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

If you can do yourself please do so and tell me and if it is 100% rule violation free withiut ever getting a deleion tag then please delete my fair use one. But please delete my one only when you are sure that the uploaded image by you is as I said not getting a deletion tag ever Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:49, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Please do the needful Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:49, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

If uploading it to Wikimedia is not possible update my one and update the description so that it can be saved from future warnings Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:52, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , I believe that would be OK to let the Flickr image on Commons since Robert Markowitz is a NASA photographer, but this post have a non-commercial license - so, it isn't allowed on Commons. But, it may be the same case as File:SpaceX Crew-1 Commercial Crew Portrait.jpg. I'm uploading it. Let's see what happens. Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:34, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
The archive itself credits "Robert Markowitz - NASA - JSC", so is Public Domain!!! Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:46, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SpaceX_Crew-3_crew_Patch.jpg What to do for this Chinakpradhan (talk) 01:42, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Two parallel images are wrong in Wikipedia Chinakpradhan (talk) 01:59, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Chinakpradhan, since a freely licensed image of the crew is now available, the non-free image on en.wiki must be deleted, per Fair Use policy there. Please replace any uses of it with the new image, and add the template {{Db-f5}} to the top of the image description page. (I can do this for you if necessary, but it is a useful learning experience.) Huntster (t @ c) 02:58, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

that what i thought to do as i said earlier, delete it i kept it as a default option till official comes time is come for deletionChinakpradhan (talk) 03:00, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

btw have any of you seen any similar kind of imagery for inspiration4 or this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Inspiration4_mission_crew.jpg is the official oneChinakpradhan (talk) 04:15, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: : sadly the official Inspiration4 stuff is under a restricted CC, so there's nothing to do by now. Erick Soares3 (talk) 13:40, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
@Huntster: , since you're an administrator, could give a look on these deletion requests? Thanks, Erick Soares3 (talk) 13:45, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Oh you mean that it is made already but not published to public under any lisence. If that's not the case then tell the link for that stuff, I need to do a case study for that. Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:16, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Please give that I will be really grateful. I will not upload it if highly secure. I want it for myself basically. I keep a collection of those images in my device. Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:18, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: , just see their Flickr and what I wrote here. Erick Soares3 (talk) 16:19, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

I read when you asked huntster. So I have to remain devoid of original portrait since flickr do do not have the real portrait. BTW thanks for helping and please notify me If it gets published in public anyday. Chinakpradhan (talk) 16:26, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

@Chinakpradhan: Flickr have the original portrait since they are the official source from the Inspiration4 mission. Erick Soares3 (talk) 17:46, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

seriously are you a fool. i was saying that you are linking me the flickr account, not the link of potrait i need. i mean getting the image from account is like finding the image of 15th curiosity drill site from the today's too long curiosity rover raw image gallery. please give the image from that account, that has a creative background as seen crew 3 portait that has a scene of glacier on earth as from space and shinning sun and the crew patch in front and looks like they are not standing on ground, if its available. and i the best potraits from the account are https://www.flickr.com/photos/inspiration4photos/51284249867/in/photostream/ nor this https://twitter.com/rookisaacman/status/1407159096114098179?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw (they are good, no doubt but are not creative and the first one is having a engine in the back and the second one has no logos with it). so they are not like the crew 3 portrait and i want something like that only. Chinakpradhan (talk) 18:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

I have been trying to be patient with you for a long time, since I can barely understand your grammar (and I'm not even an English language native). The source of all Inspiration4 images are there. Just look for it or download everything - they have a bunch of original ṕortraits. Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:33, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

After changing my last comment i want to say that the image must be creative like this poster here https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210203005282/en/Super-Bowl-Ad-for-Inspiration4-Invites-Viewers-to-Join-World%E2%80%99s-First-All-Civilian-Mission-to-Space this in some sense is like the image that has creative background. the image of inspiration crew members i need must be like this. whereas the account lacks images like this. thats the problem i am facing in getting the right creative image of crew.Chinakpradhan (talk) 05:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

just asking the reason why the cft image was removed and the earlier one was placed there, as i didn't see any edit summary in both the pages and as per my side i explained who are the crew members in caption of each page where this was keptChinakpradhan (talk) 10:26, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Erick Soares3 (talk) 18:57, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
