- @Túrelio: I'm aware of the policies regarding copyrights on Wikimedia Commons. Hence, I have already contacted the copyright holder who gave me permission to re-use it. However, he didn't reply to my request to send an official e-mail as per Wikimedia policies. Is there anyway I can use his Flickr response as a proof of permission?
- Hi, well, there are two possibilities: 1) what you did already; author/creator confirms a Commons-compliant license to OTRS; or 2) author/creator switches license on Flickr to a Commons-compliant license, such as CC-BY-SA or CC-BY; and notifies us. We let flickr-review script run, which records the license. Thereafter, the license on Flick can be changed back to a more restrictive one. However, author/creator needs to be aware that anybody can then use his image under this free license. --Túrelio (talk) 21:51, 7 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining, @Túrelio: ! I'll contact him again then and emphasize on the debriefing I've conducted before.
You've received an imaginary Order of King Abdulaziz for your decent suggestion.
