@DesiBoy101, It's not clear to me why was this picture was reported. I made sure to check the license of the article and it was CC BY 4.0 DEED. Isn't that good enough? Here's the source [1] of the image. If you check the footer of the site you can see that they've licensed their content under CC. Is there something I missed? Thanks. Hey @DesiBoy101 I would really like a reply. I will reinstate the image a week later. Blackout Sea (talk) 18:48, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Blackout Sea: Even if the content has been stated as CC BY 4.0 in the footer, it will apply for the text content on the website and not the image. Reason being, if you reverse search the image, you can see that it has been on several media platforms well before this particular article was published. So, it is highly likely that the source you've mentioned above has taken it from one of the other websites. Whenever an image is taken from an online source, the images are explicitly released under a specific open license. Only then they're deemed fit to be uploaded to Commons, until they are in public domain by default, of course. DesiBoy101 (talk) 08:43, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah, thanks! I did a reverse search on yandex but nothing turned up. Doing it on google returns some results. I'll be more careful next time. Blackout Sea (talk) 12:02, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
