Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Culminatio!

-- Wikimedia Commons Welcome (talk) 13:17, 28 June 2020 (UTC) Dear Culminatio! In the file "File: First Republic of Armenia in 1918-1920.png" I have corrected the data in the map legend regarding what is indicated on the map by numbers. Clarified the boundaries of the territories required at the Paris Peace Conference. I urge you Culminatio not to vandalize and not return the map to the version on which you marked the line reached as a result of the Turkish offensive in 1920. Since, firstly, it is incorrect: Batumi, Artvin and Ardahan were under the control of the Democratic Republic of Georgia until February-March 1921. And secondly, there is no point in additionally showing the front lines with a thick line, when the results of the war have already been mapped according to the peace treaty (Treaty of Alexandrople of December 2, 1920). If you have any constructive comments and suggestions, I am ready to consider them. Thank you.--Accipite7 (talk) 11:22, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dear Accipite7, I'm glad you talked to me. I didn't vandalized you map, don't think this way please. I actually want to propose you to add yourself explanations for the missed numbers on the map. Very nice map. But unfortunately you have an incorrect information on the turkish advance in 1920-1921. Turkish troops occupied Ardagan and Artvin in middle to end of October 1920, and they took northern Ajara with Batum later. I make sure exactly when they occupied Batum and get back to you . Thank you.Culminatio (talk) 02:28, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good afternoon, dear Culminatio! What is your native language? ქართველი ხართ? In the affirmation that not only Artvin (he was transferred to Georgia by the British in July 1920), but also Ardahan (occupied by Georgian troops in October 1920) were under Georgian control until the beginning of the Sovietization of Georgia in February-March 1920, I am kindly giving you a links to this: http://www.conflicts.rem33.com/images/Armenia/restoration%20and%20terr%20issue/T6.html http://www.conflicts.rem33.com/images/Armenia/restoration%20and%20terr%20issue/KARTEN/MAP_11_armenia_sovietiza_1920_v9b.JPG http://www.conflicts.rem33.com/images/Georgia/Soviet_Georgian_War21_E3.html http://www.conflicts.rem33.com/images/Georgia/sovetizacia_1921_1.jpg Yours faithfully--Accipite7 (talk) 07:25, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good afternoon, dear User:Accipite7. I'm sorry for such a delay with the response, but I was very preoccupied. Still is, but I want to give you a quick answer. Thanks for providing this maps of Andrew Andersen, George Partskhaladze and George Egge. I like them much, the second edition very nice. The first edition, unfortunately had many mistakes over Armenian borders and territories held, not in the favour of Armenia, but was perfect for Georgian borders changes. The second edition is nearly perfect for the Armenian boundaries changes, but became imperfect for Georgian territorial changes. On the first edition they indicated with the date occupation of Ardagan, Artanuj, Artvin and Barumi by Turkish troops in the end of 1920. I'm not trying to give you a lesson here over political science, don't think that please, but it is very important to understand that situation in 1920-1921 in the north. Turkish troops took Ardagan very quickly actually, on October 13th. Artvin and Artanuj they took in the end of November, and Batumi they occupied in the DecemberJanuary 1921. But it's not important the exact dates in this case. Important is that all of Ajara(Klarjeti) and southern Meskheti were in the hands of Turkish army before bolsheviks took Georgia completely. If it was not the case, and Ardahan, Artvin, Artanuj and Batum ends up in the hands of Stalin, Ordjenikidze and Mdivani, they would never ever let Turks have those lands. More over, if Orjenikidze, Stalin and Mdivani, as leaders of the Russian bolsheviks on the Caucasus, controlled all of Ajara and Mesxetia, they would make Turks seceded to the Soviet Armenia occupied Kars, Sarikamish and Kagizman, on the case that, when bolshevik uprising happened in Armenia in the spring of 1920, Soviet power was declared by an Armenian communists in those towns of the Kars province. Maximum that what Stalin, Orjenikidze and Mdivani would let Turks have, it would be the Olti and south of the Surmalu districts, which were controlled by the local pro-turkish forces anyway. Turkish military and political leadership perfectly well understood that situation, that's why they declared Artvin, Artanuj and Batum territories as part of the Turkish National Oath and occupied them before communists arrived there. Faithfully yours--Culminatio (talk) 14:16, 18 May 2021 (UTC).Reply
