Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Uploading logos as "own work"

Hey, March8613.

When you're uploading logos, please don't upload them as "own work". They're not your own work- they're very clearly screenshots or saved versions of other people's work. Now, the good news is that many of these logos will not be eligible for copyright protection in the United States. You'll need to look at those, and then change to license to Template:PD-textlogo. If a logo was produced for an American company, and it's only made up of shapes and simple text, you'll use that template. The others, unfortunately, may have to be deleted. Thank you for telling me this. I really don't want to get in trouble and have already nominated ones I feel that should be deleted. Mostly the transition logos of old department stores and more recent companies that have gone defunct that the logo may still be under copyright. I want to make things right but am new here. How would I apply the Templates to the files? I'd like to get things right asap. Thank you! March8613 (talk) 03:05, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
