Personality rights

Hi Mashkawat.ahsan,

I really like many of your pictures. But I am a bit worried, if all of them should be on commons. Not all people want their pictures shared with the whole world and in many countries they have the right to restrict the use of private pictures. I am not sure about the legal situation in Bangladesh, but I believe these personality rights to be very basic human rights. Did you check with all people clearly depicted in your pictures, if they are ok with being shown on these clicks to the whole world? I noticed when looking at your latest nominations for QIs - the ride sharing and fruit seller picture. Both are indeed good shots, but do you have permission from these persons to publish them? Hi, thank yo for your comment. i take verbal permissions from both of them during street photography, i don't have any written permission. Is this ok for wikimedia. Thanks in advance Mashkawat.ahsan (talk) 08:11, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

প্রতিযোগিতা পাতায় দেয়া তালিকা থেকে বাংলাদেশের প্রাকৃতিক সংরক্ষিত অঞ্চলের যেকোনো সময় তোলা ছবি জুন মাসে জমা দিয়ে প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশ নেওয়া যাবে। প্রতিযোগিতায় একজন একাধিক ছবি জমা দিতে পারবেন। প্রতিযোগিতা শেষে প্রতিটি দেশ থেকে সেরা ১০টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিক বিচারকদের কাছে পাঠানো হবে এবং সব দেশের ছবি থেকে সেরা ১৫টি ছবি আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে বিজয়ী ঘোষণা করা হবে। বিজয়ীদের জন্য আলাদাভাবে আন্তর্জাতিক ও জাতীয় পুরস্কার রয়েছে।

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on 1 May 2023, 23:59:59 UTC.
