They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

hi, nice photo. however, it is a derivative of the copyrighted sculpture. see the SIRIS database [1]. this means it's probably going to get deleted. the wikipedia article uses a "fair use" photo uploaded there, but commons is free only. see also Commons:Public art and copyrights in the US. there is a list of long beach sculptures,[2] the ones before 1978 should be good to go. - there is a small group for Public Art User:SarahStierch; User:Jgmikulay, but it's a minefield see w:Korean_War_Veterans_Memorial#United_States_postage_stamp_court_case, freedom of panorama for buildings in U.S. though, so Commons:Wiki Loves Monuments is active. lot's of california monuments to photo. w:National Register of Historic Places listings in California. + w:List of California Historical Landmarks there are prizes in September.
