Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 22:05, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Please give images better names
edit
It seems that many of your images have great names--I just think it would be helpful for everybody if you could take a few minutes to rename the less descriptive filenames to better ones. Thanks!--Mathmitch7 (talk) 17:14, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
You are absolutely right! I usually try to choose a fitting name, though this particular image slipped through the cracks. I am having a bit of a technical issue editing the title, but if manage to do it, feel free to rename it to "A slogan displayed by demonstrators during the 2020-2021 Bulgarian protests". Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oleg Morgan (talk • contribs) 19:12, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

editHello, and thank you for your contributions to Commons!
Please mind that we typically do not host Personally Identifiable Information here, as there are substantial risks for the persons and institutions involved. Covid certificates are an example of such information. In doubt, do not hesitate to ask, either myself or at COM:VP.
Thank you for your understanding and good continuation! Rama (talk) 15:06, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
