Hi Ibn Battuta. I can speak in Dutch and in English, my German is not great.
The subject Slangenmuur/Serpentinewalls is rather odd and I dont understand it's full history, range of form and size, and areas where they were used. Getting literature about it is rather tricky. Runderpest

Beste Sonty, De afbeelding File:Runderpest in Nederland 18e eeuw.jpg die ik plaatste op Commons is niet van Jan Smit, die maakte ook wel een gravure naar een schilderij van waarschijnlijk dezelfde schilder. De door mij geplaatste gravure is echter gemaakt door Jacobus Eussen (hij is o.a. ook afgebeeld in het geheugen van Nederland). Je kunt nmm niet zo maar de bron en de maker wijzigen als die niet corresponderen met de oorspronkelijke bron en de maker van de geplaatste afbeelding. Wat wel kan is een afbeelding van Jan Smit van deze gravure uploaden en onder zijn naam plaatsen. Maar een gravure van Eusser is van Eusser en niet van Smit. Dag Gouwenaar. Hartelijk dank voor je bericht. Ik snapte het in eerste instantie al niet helemaal toen ik eea na-ploos met die afbeelding. Ik bakte ervan dat Jan Smit een pseudoniem was van Jacobus Eussen...
Jan Smit vond ik namelijk ook wel omschreven als een anoniem. In het geheugen van Nederland las ik dat de prent uit de Atlas Van Stolk kwam. Op Noord-Hollands Archief vond ik de afbeelding van Jan Smit. Op de Atlas van Stolk-website is met de zoeksleutel slaandehand Smits afbeelding te vinden in inzoombare versie inclusief de tekst die onder de prent staat. Met de zoeksleutel Eussen blijkt me nu dat ook diens versie op die Atlas van Stolk-site staat. Blij dat je zeer nauwkeurig werkte, het gecorrigeerd hebt en me op m'n misbaksel attendeerde. Zo erg is het nu ook weer niet, want waar ik nog wel benieuwd naar ben, wie de echte tekenaar of schilder is geweest. Onder beide afbeeldingen staat "naa het leeven geteekent en gegraveert" op de ene door Jan Smit en op de andere door Jacobus Evssen. De gegevens van Jan Smit zijn te vinden bij de RKD, dus hij werkte niet onder pseudoniem. Zie ook hier op blz. 1532. Eusser kom ik echter niet tegen in het bestand van de RKD. Dat met onder beide afbeeldingen "naa het leeven geteekent en gegraveert" staat, vond ik ook opmerkelijk, maar hoe eea precies in elkaar steekt weet ik niet. Smit zit in de Atlas van Stolk onder inv.nr 3645, Eussen onder 3646. Ik weet weinig van gravures etc. Als ik inzoom op de Smit-versie zie ik dat die veel detail in de lijnen heeft. Eussen is ruwer. Voor zover ik het zie/snap is de Smit-versie niet een bijgewerkte etsplaat van de Eussen-versie, of vice versa. Anyway, wat ik eigenlijk uitsluitend zocht was het tafereel liefst met de daaronder staande tekst in hoge resolutie voor Commons. Sonty567 (talk) 15:05, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

On the first issue. They are the same picture but Vegtvliet-voorkant.jpg has a larger resolution. So I would suggest: keep that 1 and delete the other 1. Thanks for the tip about the delete-link and sorry for doing it the incorrect way. Sonty (talk) 20:44, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Beste Sonty, Onlangs kreeg ik via Wikimedia bericht dat enkele door mij upgeloade fotobestanden zijn verwijderd i.v.m. copyright. Het gaat hierbij specifiek om de foto’s van het Spoorwegmuseum Utrecht en een DinoDome exterieur foto. Deze foto’s had ik met toestemming van de fotografen op Wikimedia gezet, echter ik begrijp na het nogmaals doornemen van de copyright regels dat dit niet op de juiste wijze is gedaan. Ik heb de fotografen gevraagd om de desbetreffende foto’s zelf op Wikimedia de plaatsen. De foto’s die nu nog op Wikimedia onder mijn naam staan vermeld zijn eigen foto’s. De foto’s die op Wikipedia bij diverse artikelen waren geplaatst (en verwijderd onder hoogstwaarschijnlijk copyvio) zouden hiermee kunnen worden teruggezet. Is dat iets dat je als ‘verwijderaar’ zelf eenvoudigweg moet terugdraaien of kan ik de foto’s zelf opnieuw plaatsen?

Dag Gert-Jan. Allereerst dank voor je reactie. Het is wat mij betreft geen probleem om je eigen foto's terug te plaatsen in artikelen op Wikipedia. Voel je vrij het te doen.
Ook foto's van anderen mogen geplaatst worden mits de rechthebbende toestemming tot vrijgave heeft gegeven. Zie evt. daarover ook het OTRS-systeem. (mailtje met toestemming sturen, af laten werken, en dan kan men aan de slag). Mvg Sonty (talk) 14:38, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Beste Sonty,

Zojuist kreeg ik het bericht dat het bestand http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Francoise_van_den_Bosch.jpg wordt verwijderd i.v.m. copyright. Maar Francoise van den Bosch is mijn tante (zus van m'n moeder) en deze foto komt uit onze familie. Dus er zijn geen copyright problemen. Op de website onder "Organisatie" staat het volgende: "Sinds zijn dood is de Stichting in het bijzonder dank verschuldigd voor de warme belangstelling en donaties van de zuster van Françoise, Thea Verspyck Mijnssen - Van den Bosch".

Kun je daarom het verwijderverzoek intrekken?

Ik snap het verzoek. Op de 1 of andere manier lijkt er iets niet goed te zijn gegaan binnen het systeem hoe de foto geupload werd. Ik zal iemand proberen in te schakelen (een specialist met de bijnaam Husky) die u hopenlijk behulpzaam zal zijn om de foto goed hier te verwerken. De copyrights moeten namelijk nog verwerkt worden en de fotobeschrijving nog worden ingevuld. Zonder die gegevens blijft het probleem namelijk bestaan. Ik ga er even vanuit dat u er samen binnen nu en enkele dagen goed uitkomt, zo niet trek dan hoe dan ook gerust weer bij me aan de bel. Mvg Sonty (talk) 15:38, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Dear Sonty567 thanks for allerting me to the rules surrounding pictures and their publishing rights: I am pretty new to Wikipedia but love it so far! Most pictures I took myself and I have added that. The older pictures are all from the Nationaal Archief and are free of publishing rights. I fotographed some paintings and drawings: here I entered the painter/drawer as author and our family foundation as source/owner. Hope that all works..

Verwijdering monument icoontje

Beste Sonty567, gelieve niet zomaar zonder overleg allerlei sjablonen en pagina's. Ja, het is van de conventie van Den Haag, maar het wordt in Nederland algemeen gebruikt om monumenten aan te duiden (in allerlei kleurstellingen). Multichill (talk) 15:35, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Nee het is geen algemeen gebruik dit precieze symbool op monumenten zomaar te plakken. Doorheen Wikipedia plakt men het echter vrij lukraak overal op wat maar een monument is. Beide is correct dus niet hernoemen, dat is de policy op Commons. Pak de kleurdoos erbij en maakt de ontbrekende plaatjes voor Category:Distinctive emblems for gemeentelijke monumenten zou ik zeggen.

Hmm, we gaan er dan niet met zijn 2 uitkomen. Weet je waar kan ik het in een overlegpagina van een monumentengroep hier kan voorlegen om te bepalen of dit symbool juist of onjuist wordt toegepast. Dag Dqfn13. Ik begrijp je vraag niet goed. Volgens mij was met mijn versie-terugdraaiing op Commons de fout hersteld. Toch? Zo ja: kan het zijn dat je browser een oude versie toont terwijl er een goede, teruggedraaide versie is?

In het hierboven gelinkte bestand heb je wat wijzigingen gedaan, in ieder geval maintiendai geschreven in plaats van maintendai. Zou je dat ook in het bestand: Rijkswapen der Nederlanden.svg willen doen? Dat is het middelste formaat (de tent van het grote wapen ontbreekt).
