First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Convert images to jpg edit

Hello thereǃ I wanted to give you some advice when uploading images. The png images aren't of good quality, I suggest converting the png images into a jpg image as that improves the quality a lot better. Btspurplegalaxy (talk) 07:30, 20 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

因為我是圖片上傳新手，所以在參考模版時不小心手殘把自己的數值修改到演員朴喜洵的公示照：Interview with Park Hee-soon in January 2023的模版上，發現後立即回退編輯，應該是沒造成問題。但很抱歉自己的唐突，緊張下也忘了在編輯紀錄上註明是自己手殘，所以想來留言向您說聲不好意思！

上傳圖片後的原始碼可以參考我上傳的檔案File:20230829 Kim Jae-joong (김재중).jpg，目前尚未經審核。只有擁有「審查員」權限的人可以審核圖片是否符合維基百科的相關規範，並加上"|reviewer="這段註記，這段是不能由上傳者自行寫入的。你所參考的File:230103 Park Hee-soon.jpg檔案已由審查員手動審查。以上說明供你參考。 Tychou12 (talk) 16:34, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

在上傳圖片|source=這一段，有很多種標註方式，以YouTube連結來說，可以貼上完整連結再以註記截圖的秒數，以利審查員審核；亦可使用「{ { From YouTube| |t=}}」這個參數（詳細用法可以參考我上面提及的檔案），參數可以帶入連結及秒數，而你提及顯示出來的「– 在archive.org和archive.today」這段話是連結至保存網頁的網站「Wayback Machine」，因為有的影片來源或是網頁會隨著時間而遺失，而「Wayback Machine」可以找到網頁歷史檔案，這是參數自帶的句子。以上方式你擇一使用即可。 Tychou12 (talk) 16:07, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

一般都是看到YT網址+秒數比較多，但因為注意到近期您幫好多韓國演員更換新的公示照，所以才好奇您的格式，顯然您的做法是既保險又可被時間檢驗的。

能否再繼續請教一下，因為圖片檔本身擁有CC授權真的很難找，所以才在YouTube上找有創用CC授權的網站，我覺得除了 티비텐 與 Marie Claire Korea 的資源較多外，似乎找不到其他了，您有不錯的選項願意與我分享嗎？比如我最近很想幫朴海鎮演員換公示照，就是找不到有cc授權的影片呀（哭）。

比較厲害的像少女時代或IU，就是粉絲用自己的拍照自然就無授權問題。我也是一直參考其他上傳者的來源，其他的就是緣份問題了~哈哈
