Assistance requested edit

Hi, sorry for interrupting you, but there seems to be few active contributors in the South Ayrshire area. Would you mind having a look at these contribution as most categories he created where self-categorised, so not visible in the structures. Thank you. --Foroa (talk) 07:05, 19 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

McEwan's image edit

Re your comments on my talkpage. The penny has dropped. I see what you mean by saying I am not the author of the image. I was trying to indicate that I hadn't lifted it from anywhere; I had photographed it myself. Do you think there is an appropriate licence to cover this? The artwork is over a century old. Do you think it can be covered by the licence used for reproducing works of art, or, since it is an advertisement aimed at the public, by a fair-use licence? Keith, Banffshire ( not Keith, Moray ) edit

Keith is in Banffshire not in Moray. It is in the county of Banff, within the Local Government area of Moray. Wikipedia states that "until 1975 it was in Banffshire". It still is in Banffshire. The Local Government was superseded by a new model of Local Government, but the County of Banff was and is still the County of Banff. The heading on Wikipedia is incorrect. New model of Local Government did not "abolish counties" edit

In some people's ignorant reckoning, the counties of Scotland were made "former" when old Local Governments were superseded and new Local Governments were formed. So this suggests, by their twisted reckoning, that if there was an election for the Government of Scotland and a new Governement installed, then the Country of Scotland would be "former" and no more. Keith, Banffshire in Lieutenancy of Banffshire edit

Keith, Banffshire is in the Lieutenancy of Banffshire, not Moray. It has been changed on Wikipedia from the Leiutenancy of Banffshire to that of Moray. For confirmation that there is a Lieutenant of Banffshire, see http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_services/page_47212.html Scotire (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Banffshire is not a "former" county edit

Banffshire is not a "former" county. The entry on Wikipedia has been vandalized and changed to "former" county. - It is an existing county, and it's area is managed by people on the councils of Moray and Aberdeenshire. The councils are just that - people who are managers of the areas of the county, they are not the place. Scotire (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Categories edit

Hi Vclaw, I'm afraid I think I may still be getting this category thing completely wrong  . I'm using the upload facility for Wiki Monuments on the en:List of Category A listed Buildings in Aberdeenshire and that seems to automatically put images into 'Listed buildings in Scotland' - should I delete them out of that category and put them in Category A listed buildings in Scotland instead? Will that effect the Wiki Monuments totals? I'm hoping to take quite a few more today so don't want to make even more of a mess of things, which I suspect I might have done yesterday...... Category:Carn Mòr, Cawdor - just a reminder edit

Moving the category doesn't, strangely, move the files in it- that needs to be done before moving the category itself otherwise (in my experience) CatALot gets confused by the existence of a redirect and thus the files need to be moved one by one- OK with six images, as in this category, but not if there are dozens or more!
