Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Ahoj, narazil jsem na informace u obrázku, které asi nebudou úplně přesné. Autorem asi nebude archiv. Doplnil jsem tam, že je to fotografie anonymní. V takovém případě to ale také nikdo nemohl fotku uvolnit pod licencí CC-BY-SA. Myslím, že lepší je licence {{PD-anon-70-EU}}. Nebo je to jinak? zdraví --Gampe (talk) 08:05, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Pay attention to licensing

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.

File:Josef II za hladu roku 1772 návštěvou v pražské nemocnici (Obrázkové dějiny národa českého, 1910).png seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file.

Ahoj, upozorňuji na tebou nahrané obrázky do kategorie Album representantů všech oborů veřejného života Česko-Slovenského. Pokud to jsou anonymní fotky, pak patří pod licenci {{PD-anon-70-EU}}, těžko můžeš tvrdit, že anonymní autor v roce 1927 uvolnil svou fotografii pod {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}}. Fotografie z knih a jejich kategorizace edit

Zdravím. Do kategorií odpovídajících konkrétním knihám patří pouze fotografie, které se v těchto knihách nacházejí, nikoliv fotografie z jiných knih. Např. File:Josef Pačes.png patří do F. Soukup - Revoluce práce, ale nikoliv do T. Čapekː The Čechs (Bohemians) in America neboť srovnáním s originálem je vidět, že v dotyčné knize je sice podobná fotografie, ovšem dost odlišně zpracovaná. Opět zdravím. Tak jsem tedy tu kategorii z dotyčné fotografie odstranil, ovšem mezitím jsem našel stejný problém u jiné, a sice File:Bank of Europe, Český dům, Jan Hus Presbyterian Church - New York City.png. Tuto fotografii jste opět zakategorizoval do T. Čapekː The Čechs (Bohemians) in America, ačkoliv z této knihy nepochází. Tam se nachází o dost jiná fotografie, srovnat můžete zde. Kategorii jsem tedy opět odstranil.

Kromě toho to ale vypadá, že mylně uvádíte dokonce i zdroje, odkud fotografie pocházejí. Na tento problém jsem narazil u File:Josef L Lesikar.png, která zcela jistě není převzata z uvedeného zdroje, protože tam se tato fotografie nachází jednak v kvalitnějším provedení (srovnejte část nad hlavou) a jednak v jiném barevném odstínu.

Z výše uvedeného lze tedy předpokládat, že takových problémů může být více. Mohl byste je prosím všechny dohledat a uvést na pravou míru? Díky za pochopení. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 01:25, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
