Pay attention to licensing
Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.

File:Qutebrowser.png seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file.

If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.

Hello Anthony2106.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

sorry, would I be blocked perminently? Anthony2106 (talk) 12:15, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The odds of that are low given what I see above. Block durations escalate.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 12:24, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
im upset right now cus one of my older images has a tv next to my SNES and it might not be {{Template:De minimis}} enough to stay on commons. so now i should be banned now right? ive fucked up Anthony2106 (talk) 12:28, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Jeff G. I can always retake the photo with the tv off or somthing, anyway thanks for helping me Anthony2106 (talk) 12:34, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. You can use a gaussian blur on the image on the TV. The TV itself is a COM:UA, as it shows you TV programs (and generates heat).   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 14:39, 6 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ive done this now and blured out the chartrage lable but ive seen photos with the lable like this one are these {{Template:De minimis}}? Anthony2106 (talk) 02:44, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Jeff G.ping Anthony2106 (talk) 02:45, 7 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Pinging @D-Kuru as the uploader of that file to consider blurring the cartridge graphics.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 05:15, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
is this de minuis? cus its a non-free program but it looks simple enough to be deminus right? probably not Anthony2106 (talk) 12:51, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think that's de minimis.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 13:32, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
maybe not deminus but like if i made a program that cost 4$ that makes a triangle show up onscreen that would be too simple to have copyright. but maybe this is more complex so maybe it should be moved to Wikipedia? Anthony2106 (talk) 13:39, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. You can file a DR if you feel strongly about it.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 15:06, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
What? --D-Kuru (talk) 21:55, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
@D-Kuru: My comment to you was about your upload File:Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super Famicom) at gamescom 2009-retro games section PNr°0243.JPG.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 01:30, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I see no reason to blur the image or parts of it as I consider the copyrighted content to be {{De minimis}} (though I added the tag to the image). The main focus of the image is the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and not the game or the copyrighted art on the game cartridge as such. Furthermore the area that is eligible for copyright (section in the middle with blue background) is out of focus. If 17723 EscherMuseum.jpg is "Very likely" OK and Museu Valencià de la Il·lustració i la Modernitat, interior.jpg was kept for being de minimis I see no reason why this file should be treated any different.
I assume the compared file in question is SNES with small TV.png that (in my opinion) has a clear focus around the game judging by the TV that is located right next to it and shows copyrighted content. --D-Kuru (talk) 08:15, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

File:We have the same pants.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
