- Bienvenido a Commons.

Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 05:38, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Russian in Kazakhstan
editWhere did you get your figures for the Russian speakers in Kazakhstan? The Russian Wikipedia article for Karagandy Province, for example, gives a sourced figure of 39.17% Russian and 44.68% Kazakh in 2010. Russians were the majority in 1989, with 46.86% of the province's population versus 25.77% for Kazakhs. Do you have anything to refute this? Best regards, Hayden120 (talk) 10:32, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

Hello, nice maps for the Roman Empire borders, though you forgot to add the whole of Scotland , Germany and the Nubia.
Historically Romans controlled those zones, even if didn't build permanent colonies there, they had several expeditions, punitive campaigns, periodical campaigns and so on . For example Agricola conquered the whole of Scotland , the Napata capital in Meroe was sacked and occupied and Germanicus defeated the germans after Teutoburgium several times and campaigned there for long pacifying and controlling the territory making so that germans were not a thread to romans anymore . I would add so as control zones also Meroe, Scotland, Ireland and Germany. Namastesis (talk) 09:29, 14 August 2017 (UTC) |
