Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Mass file renaming

Read this discussions, please: [2], [3], [4].
You should also read references to the File Renaming Criterion #4 -- "To harmonize the file names of a set of images (so that only one part of all names differs)."

"Just because images share a category or a subject does not mean that they are part of a set. There are two scenarios that this criterion is designed for. First, certain complex templates (such as those that use BSicons or that display football kits) assume that the images used in them will follow a specific naming convention. Wikisource also uses a specific naming convention for the source files they transcribe. Second, files that form parts of a whole (such as scans from the same book or large images that are divided into smaller portions due to Commons' upload size restriction) should follow the same naming convention so that they appear together, in order, in categories and lists."

@Wieralee: : It might have been a bit unclear in the template but the purpose of the rename is to harmonise the name of files which were all included in one batch upload. I.e. they meet the criteria because they are all files that form parts of a whole. The renaming is only happening to the few images which were manually uploaded by mistake. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 15:32, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
