To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

突然の連絡、失礼いたします。お写真をありがとうございます。 File:Shuto expressway bay bridge.jpg,File:Shuto expressway 13gouchi.jpg,File:Shuto expressway daiba.jpgなどに関することですが、カテゴリを選択する際、

・より細かい具体的なカテゴリに配置する

というルールがあります（たとえば、人の写真を全部、category:Menとかに入れたら大変ですよね）。

たとえばFile:Shuto expressway 13gouchi.jpgですと、

Category:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)

カテゴリが設定されていますが、このカテゴリの下層にある

Category:Route B (Shuto Expressway)（首都高湾岸線）や、地域をあらわす Category:Odaiba（「お台場」）

が適切なカテゴリ（カテゴリは複数指定できます）かと思われます。

Category:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)を目次のようなページと考えれば、「目次に本文が載っている」本は変ですよね。

突然の連絡、失礼いたします。お写真をありがとうございます。 File:Shuto expressway kohoku jct.jpgに関することですが、カテゴリを選択する際、

（原則）より細かい具体的なカテゴリ「のみ」に配置する

というルールがあります（たとえば、人の写真を全部、category:Menとかに入れたら大変ですよね）。

このお写真ですと、 Category:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)

Category:Route C2 (Shuto Expressway)

の2つのカテゴリが設定されていますが、 Category:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)へ入れることは不要かと思われます（Category:Route C2 (Shuto Expressway)はCategory:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)に入っているため）。

Category:Metropolitan Expressway (Tokyo)は目次のようなページと考えれば、「目次に本文がすべて再掲されている」本は変ですよね。

File:Shuto expressway tatsumi jct.jpg なども同様です。

Hi. Thanks for uploading the photo File:10000x6300 01.jpg today. Just a couple of issues:

Could you please confirm that the photo was taken at 11:44 on 11 August 2014 (i.e. today), as that appears to be the exact same time it was uploaded? The "Date" field should show the date the photo was actually taken - not when it was uploaded.
The image has no EXIF data, but was this a photo you took yourself? Can you not upload the original version?
Finally, could you please try to add suitable categories to images you upload in future?
