Welcome back? edit

I see you have joined us today and are already commenting on QI nominations without uploading any of your own photographs. That suggests to me that you are already familiar with the process (unusual for a newbie). Do you have any previous accounts here? If so, you should declare them. Cheers. Hello, nice to meet you! Thank you also for my motivations to get involved here. To take your question right up front, I think QI is a very interesting platform to evaluate images and give feedback. We humans are a diverse society, each with different impressions, opinions and prior knowledge. It is against the backdrop of this diversity that the subjective evaluation of image files is particularly exciting. The exchange of opinions that is possible on the QI pages is also nice. This is new for me in this context, after all I am just gathering my first experiences on Commons and my commitment is only at the beginning. That's why I haven't uploaded any photo files from my smartphone yet. But that will surely come when I discover a picture that can make an exceptional contribution. Many greetings, your Hillo --Hillopo2018 (talk) 08:42, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

QI edit

Hello, thank you for your evaluatino to the project Commons:Quality images candidates. But I believe that several similar images can be nominated. For mine, the angle of view changes and the mode (HDR), which explains the four photos offered. Gzen92 [discuter] 11:33, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Besides I find that File:Église Saint-Maurice (Ebersmunster) (5).jpg is sharper. Gzen92 [discuter] 11:52, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi and thanks for your message! So, I think that one photo of a picture series is enough for the rating. It makes little sense to nominate the quasi same photo several times, if they hardly differ or not at all. I would suggest that the photographer chooses the best picture, i.e. does a pre-selection and then brings the one picture to QI. --Hillopo2018 (talk) 07:22, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Eligibility of QIC reviewers edit

It seems your participation on QI is somewhat premature, for which I aplogise for not having noticed earlier. Please see COM:QIC#Evaluating_images and wait until 30th July before reviewing any more images. Thanks. Any reviews you feel like making will have to wait otherwise they will be reverted. Rodhullandemu (talk) 10:20, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

This should be solved right now. --Hillopo2018 (talk) 07:15, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Discussion at QIC talk page edit

A discussion is being held here, over the reviewing process at QIC and the possibility of improving our Image Guidelines. As a regular contributor to the project, your opinion would be most welcome and valued. Alvesgaspar (talk) 11:49, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

File:At Tenerife 2022 025.jpg edit

Hi, thanks for the review! I'm just trying to understand what you mean by 'Image has disturbin dark areas on both sides.' Do you mean the trees, or possibly the sea? Would a crop help? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:04, 30 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they shall get cropped away. --Hillopo2018 (talk) 08:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
