Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

... derpå synes jeg der mangler en licens, som kun giver tilladelse til brug i pågældende artikel. Jeg kan hvert fald ikke finde den?.

Du har for File:NederHadsten1800.jpg angivet at det er Eget arbejde. Idet der er tale om et kort over et område per 1804, finder jeg det nærliggende at tro, at du enten baserer tegningen på andet kortmateriale, eller f.eks. har scannet det ind fra en bog. Du bør således uddybe kildepunktet, med mindre du selv har lavet kortet på baggrund af egen forskning. Jeg forstår din formodning, men dette er ganske vidst Eget arbejde, idet der ikke findes kortmateriale af god nok kvalitet fra før udskiftningen i 1804. Mine kilder er matrikelmateriale fra Frijsenborg Gods fra 1791, der beskriver placeringen af gårdene i landsbyen. Dog har jeg benyttet de Frie Data hos Geodatastyrelsen som et udgangspunkt, for at placere de gårde, som stadig findes. Som det fremgår af GST vilkår for brug af frie data, skal der angives både datasæt og dato for udtræk for at der er tale om lovlig anvendelse. Det fremgår også af den licensskabelon der er påført filerne og jeg har endda også skrevet en notits om det ovenfor. Jeg undskylder, hvis jeg virker lidt dum. Men jeg synes da at det hele er opgivet i filerne? Dog kan jeg måske se lidt i http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:NederHadsten1800.jpg, hvor jeg kun har angivet at det er fra matrikelkort. På File:Kort25-Hadsten.tif kan jeg finde to datoer: 1 January 2013 og 10 February 2012. Den sidste er tidspunktet for hvornår filen er gemt (jf. EXIF-informationerne i billedet) og den sidste er givetvis oplægningstidspunktet. Altså intet om hvornår data er udtrukket fra GST/KMS. Jeg kan heller ikke se en angivelse datasæt her ([1] er ikke et datasæt). På File:NederHadsten1800.jpg er der to datoer - begge i 2012 og dermed ikke omfattet af frie kort (data skal være udtrukket efter nytåret 2012/2013, da der ikke er frigivet data med tilbagevirkende kraft)! Det er et ret præcist defineret vilkår, at den dato for hvornår data er udtrukket skal være oplyst og hvilket datasæt der er anvendt. GST har oplyst at dette er fordi, de løbende vil ændre licensvilkårne så derfor er det et spørgsmål om, at de skal kunne se hvornår data er udtrukket for at vurdere en given anvendelse ud fra de på det angivne tidspunkt gældende licensvilkår. For måske at gøre det hele en smule mere tydeligt, har jeg lavet et eksempel på Frie data for englebørn: File:Fælledparken_1957-1976.png. Bemærk dato-angivelsen og kilde-sættets navngivning. If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion.
