Thanks for uploading File:Queen – montagem – new.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Reminder: Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2016 is open!

edit

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2016 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear KPFC,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.

Thanks,

Your VFC installation method is deprecated

edit

Hello KPFC, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Code issues in User:KPFC/common.js

edit

Hi KPFC, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:KPFC/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 5 new jshint issues — the page's status is now having ERRORS. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

Hi KPFC, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Autopatrol given

edit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Didym (talk) 14:24, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Loves Monuments 2019

edit

Hallo KPFC,

Important message for file movers

edit

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Logo TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen

edit

–KPFC💬 10:40, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Genau. Die neue Version existiert ja sogar bereits bei w:de:Datei:Logo TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen (2021).svg 185.209.238.168 15:54, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hallo KPFC,

Renaming

edit

Can you explain to me why the names of some of these files [1]? The designations were made in accordance with the designation of the source which is consequently based on the designations given by the author. Bes-ARTTalk 15:09, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@KPFC I am going to ask an admin about your doing because I dont think you even tried to check the source. Thanks Bes-ARTTalk 15:26, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Bes-ART, these were not the actual titles of the lithographs. The ones i requested and are visible under the actual lithographs are the alternative titles by G. D. Beresford. The actual titles are also known and can be seen in this website. You have to press each image to see the original title and alternative title. The ones you originally used are certainly not the original. Also, the categories you removed were relevant. These regions were part of the Ottoman Empire, geographically at the time part of Albania or Epirus (depending on the author), and today part of Greece. A name like "File:Janina, the capital of Albania.jpg" is a highly ambiguous name, which says nothing about the context of the actual image falling under COM:FNC criterion 2, specifically "Only information is the location (broad) The only piece of meaningful information is a broad location, such as a city, province, or country. In this case, the location is so large that an average person would not be able to figure out where the image was taken or what the image depicted, without assistance from someone that knows the area."
I think including the original name in the new name might have been better practice indeed. But the original names per se were nonsensical. You wouldn't ask the same about a picture named "Washington, the capital of the US.jpg", would you? Regards, KPFC💬 15:42, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am ok with putting the year to give context, but you did change other by removing the original naming which was very very sensical giving that in that time it was considered by many Albania, so the original name was OK. They are published in a work called Twelve Sketches in double tinted Lithography of Scenes in Southern Albania in London 1855. Bes-ARTTalk 15:49, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Bes-ART, did you read what i wrote above? The titles you used are modern titles by Wellcome Collection; this can also be understood by the parentheses that are used, referring to modern-day Greece. Demetrios1993 (talk) 15:53, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I initially assumed, what Demetrios confirmed, that given that one of the title had the addition "(subsequently Greece)" they were not the original titles, so it was obvious to me to move them to the title printed on the files itself. But I don't really care, so you should get to an agreement with him on this. KPFC💬 16:04, 14 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why delete Isabel Path and Fabian Path?

edit

Why are you requesting my track history images for Hurricanes Isabel and Fabian to be deleted?! There is nothing specifically wrong with these two images. The only downturn is they might be hard to differentiate from one another. I've chosen to replace the images with the track plot colors that is reflected on the Saffir-Simpson Article used Here. The image before was using the OLD track colors that are now outdated/. Other people have began replacing these types of images with new plot colors too. I seriously do not understand why you are requesting these images to be deleted. If possible, please re-think and appeal this decision to avoid deleting these two images. If there is something specifically wrong with them, please let me know so i can re-work on them. Thank you. YourGeneric (talk) 04:14, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
