Your images of the Austrian-Hungarian Infantry
editHi Kolohou, your images of the Austrian-Hungarian Infantry are unlikely to be own work. They are taken from http://www.bundesheer.at/php_docs/download_file.php?adresse=/sk/lask/brigaden/jgbrig6/baon/pdf/gebirgsjaeger_ausgabe_022014.pdf or similar. Please correct the licenses, --Herzi Pinki (talk) 07:34, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- thanks for correcting the sources, but still there is a CC-BY-SA 4.0 License. You either need permission of the creator of the paintings Darko Pavlović or his heirs, or you have to prove that the images are in the PD. Could you also change the source that one can see also the metadata, the jpg alone does not give any ideas about the author, date of creation, license and so on. --Herzi Pinki (talk) 11:03, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but how can I do it? Darko Pavlović is illustrator and painter who painted these pictures for the book "Austro-hungarian Forces in World War I". All images are loosely published. It will be enough to save them in a PDF? Thanks for message --Kolohou 12:17, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Kolohou, acc. to [1] Darko Pavlović was born in 1959. So his work still is copyrighted. I first thought he was a contemporary illustrator. The material is then also questionable, as it is not clear whether it is a work of art or served documentary purposes. Unless you are Darko Pavlović yourself, you need a written permission from him to publish the illustrations here under what license he prefers. But it must be a free license matching Commons' needs. An exception is when Darko Pavlović published the material already under a compatible free license somewhere else, which is sufficient, if it can be proved. Even if you are Darko Pavlović, it would be good to state this towards the OTRS team. In any other case this is unfree material without a proper permission and I fear it has to be deleted. see Commons:Licensing, Commons:OTRS. Sorry to say that, regards --Herzi Pinki (talk) 12:46, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
