There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Copyright violations edit

File:JefVanCampenPortret2.jpg edit

File:JefVanCampenPortret2.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

You can't just take the images from the artists web site and claim them as your own. CambridgeBayWeather Talk 20:10, 13 September 2009 (UTC) As far as I know, I did not claim them as mine. (I cannot check anymore as they are already gone). On the last upload attempt, I did indicate that I had the artist's permission to redistribute the images, but I cannot check (or correct as suggested above) because they are already gone again. Hi Lightningbit,
indepedent of the question about claimed authorship, you need to provide written permission by the photographer or rights holder before uploading copyrighted images under a free license to Commons. If you have already a permission from Mr. Van Campen, then this should be easy. Just go to Commons:Email templates, take the permission template, enter the filenames (you may take the names of the deleted files, as they can easily be restored by any admin), enter the license and mail all to the photographer or rights holder and ask him to put a date and his name under it and mail it back to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. As soon as you have done this and have a positive response from Mr. Van Campen, drop me a note and I will restore the images. Some time after the permission email has arrived at OTRS, a volunteer will check the permission and add a so-called OTRS-ticket (sort of clearance) to each of the images. --Túrelio (talk) 06:15, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
