Thanks for uploading File:My Kingdom for a Yacht.pdf. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Hi Nathaniel,
- Sorry to appeal to you but I learned this morning that the document
- http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Yuti_No8.pdf
- that I uploaded a few months ago HAS BEEN DELETED a few hours ago.
- It is not understandable as the permission was given on the 30th of August. (see message below)

- Dear Philippe Fabry,

- Thank you for your contribution to Wikimedia Commons.

- So, Nathaniel, I am extremely surprised because, as you can see on the second page of the document Yuti No8 that I am the publisher of this magazine (see doc att :
- Publisher_Yuti_No8_p_002.jpg and
- Yuti_No8_p_002w.jpg)
- and now I really don’t understand this decision which will block access to a very useful educational tool to the 1000’s of children in Sri Lanka whose textbooks are neither tri-lingual or fun which was Yuti’s aim. Please note the Ministry of Education gave its approval for publication and this is marked on the inner cover.
- I am the publisher of this file and the founder of the NGO Sri Lanka Solidarity so there is no copyright issue, (kindly see links and screen shots below)
- Screen_Shot_Lanka_Page_PhF.png
- http://www.sundaytimes.lk/061008/FunDay/funday3.html
- Screen_Shot_Sunday_Times_PhF.png
- Note also that the 50,000 copies of the nine issues we have published from 2006 to 2010 have been distributed free of charge to the children of Sri Lanka.
- Today, we would like to make them available again to children and teachers, still free of charge via Internet since we have no funds to re-print them.
- We feel extremely upset that someone could stop this wonderful chance we have via Wikimedia to offer once again this quality free educational material to the children of Sri Lanka (Yuti was awarded a prize in Sri Lanka).
- My dedication to humanitarian and relief projects has been praised by the French Senate in 2009 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkIO6u7gQvs)(http://www.senat.fr/expatries/journees_des_francais_de_letranger/jfe_3_le_senat_la_france_le_monde/emission_de_television.html).
- I have also been made ‘Chevalier’ (Knight) de l’Ordre National du Mérite’, the second highest French decoration after the ‘Légion d’Honneur’, if my honourability needs to be assessed.
- And I insist, this is not a commercial or promotional approach, it’s purely humanitarian.
- Kindly let me know when you can put the file (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Yuti_No8.pdf) back online,
- Thanking you in advance for your help; the donors who helped fund Yuti and who we have recently spoken to are all thrilled to know Yuti has the chance once again to appeal to its young audience through Wikimedia.
- Sincerely yours,
- Ph. Fabry
