Image:Kosovo stub.svg edit

Hi there. I see you are new here, so you might not realize this, but your overwriting this image with one of your own and replacing the author credit violated its license.

It also had the bad side-effect of altering the intended use on at least the Polish Wikipedia. Since Kosovo is a controversial topic, it was agreed there to prepare a stub template that would be neutral with respect to Kosovo's politics, a territory which, as you know, is still claimed by Serbia. That is why the second version was in green, although the original was similar to your (3rd) version.

I noticed that on the English Wikipedia, the Kosovo stub template is neutral blue and not flag-based, as well.

For all these reasons, if you still desire to upload a Kosovo graphic for stub use, please choose a different name. Image:Kosovo stub2.svg or Image:Kosovo stub flag.svg would be reasonable names.

In any case, please pay attention to the license of any graphic you intend to overwrite, as well please consider the possibility that such overwriting may not be welcome, or might have an unintended side-effect. Best wishes, --Mareklug ^talk 09:39, 17 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

こんにちは、Knua です。File:Flag of Hatsukaichi.svgの旗の著作権ですが、過去のja:Wikipedia:井戸端/subj/都道府県旗のアップロードやCommons:井戸端/過去ログ3#都道府県旗及び都道府県章のアップロードは問題ないかの議論により、日本国著作権法第十三条を理由としたPD-Japan-exemptは不可能とされました。

Washiucho様が投稿された画像のうち、著作権保護期間内のものはPDにはできません。ただし、簡単な図案は著作権の対象としないとする考えもありますので、投稿者の責任においてTemplate:PD-ineligibleにすることは可能です。ライセンスの訂正がされないものは近いうちに削除依頼に出します。--Knua (talk) 16:02, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for publishing an svg file of the Travancore flag. I lived in that area thirteen years of my life. The problem is that the conch (shankh) in the middle is not acceptable from the heraldic point of view. I have made a png file Travancore state flag after mid 19th century, but I don't know how to make an svg file. Please feel free to use it as reference to make a heraldically accurate svg file. Dear Washiucho,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2016 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.
