Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hi, The pictures should be usable. Other Wikipedia pages use politicians official portraits and they are in the public domain. If I need to add more information please let me know. Michaeolson (talk) 19:37, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

•  Oppose - Nonsense request. Please review w:WP:OTHERSTUFF and w:Federalism. 17 U.S.C. § 105, which you are implicitly invoking, applies only to federal works. State works (which you've not even demonstrated these are, as governmental entities routinely commission private photographs for official portraits and copyrights do not necessarily transfer) are only public domain in California, Florida, Massachusetts and in some specific departments of other states. If you'd actually looked at the source you provided for File:Steve-Carra.jpg, for example, you'd have seen "© 2009 - 2022 Michigan House Republicans. All Rights Reserved." COM:L, linked no less than seven times (!!!) above says "Commercial use of the work must be allowed" (italics in original). I think we can use the Erik Mortensen picture as long as we post source. This was from the website

Again, you need to read COM:L. We require licenses to be specific and also to address, among others, commercial usage, derivatives and perpetuity. We have even explicitly rejected MN government works; no knowledge of Commons discussions is needed if you actually read guidance and terms critically. Эlcobbola _talk 20:36, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

Ok I recommend you review this paragraph from there:

It does not mean "come down hard like a ton of bricks on someone as soon as they make a mistake". We should cut editors (particularly new ones) some slack, and help them understand how to edit competently. Mistakes are an inevitable part of the wiki process. You ignored substantial guidance and warnings above. You ignored crystal clear language of your own sources. You ignored the guidance of the Special:UploadWizard--including lying about authorship of File:Tim-Baxter.jpg; the very first selection after uploading a file is the binary "This file is my own work" and "This file is not my own work". No experience is needed ("particularly new ones") to answer that correctly. This is not "as soon as they make a mistake"; you had five warnings ([1][2][3][4][5][6]).
