Lieber WLM Teilnehmer, liebe WLM Teilnehmerin,
wir freuen uns, Ihnen mitzuteilen, dass sich mindestens eines der von ihnen hochgeladenen Bilder für die engere Auswahl des nationalen oderi internationalen Wettbewerbs qualifiziert hat [1].
Die 10 asugezeichneten Fotografien werden während der Wiki Loves Monuments Zeremonie, am 30.Novemer, bekanntgegeben.
Diese Award Show findet in der Nationalbibliothek (Hallwylstrasse 15, 3003 Bern) statt und dauert von 11:00Uhr bis ca 16:00Uhr. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung erwartet sie ein spannendes Rahmenprogramm: Ein gemeinsames Mittagessen sowie eine geführte Tour durch das eidgenössische Archiv für Denkmalpflege, eine Ausstellung der ausgezeichneten WikiLovesMonuments Bilder - mit ergänzenden Bilder aus der Archivwelt der Nationalbibliothek sowie Workshops bzgl. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category have continued to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

The 2013 Picture of the Year competition has ended and we are pleased to announce the results: We shattered participation records this year — more people voted in Picture of the Year 2013 than ever before. In both rounds, 4070 different people voted for their favorite images. Additionally, there were more image candidates (featured pictures) in the contest than ever before (962 images total).
- In the first round, 2852 people voted for all 962 files
- In the second round, 2919 people voted for the 50 finalists (the top 30 overall and top 2 in each category)
We congratulate the winners of the contest and thank them for creating these beautiful images and sharing them as freely licensed content:
- 157 people voted for the winner, an image of a lightbulb with the tungsten filament smoking and burning.
- In second place, 155 people voted for an image of "Sviati Hory" (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine.
- In third place, 131 people voted for an image of a swallow flying and drinking.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 - Wiki4Alps edition edit
 WLM CH (Deutsch)Liebe/r Teilnehmer/in des Wettbewerbs Wiki Loves Monuments CH 2013, Die Ausgabe 2014 des Wettbewerbs Wiki Loves Monuments hat Montag 8 September begonnen. Dieses Jahr fokussiert sich der Schweizer Wettbewerb auf die Region der Alpen. Die vergangenen Wettbewerbe haben ermöglicht, dass mehrere tausend Fotos von Schweizer Denkmälern gesammelt werden konnten. Dank euch hat es auf Wikimedia Commons Bilder von zahlreichen Denkmälern. Jedoch haben wir festgestellt, dass die Denkmäler, welche sich in den alpinen Regionen befinden, dabei nur sehr gering vertreten sind. Aus diesem Grund fokussiert sich der diesjährige Wettbewerb spezifisch auf die Alpen, um auch diesen Lebensraum auf Wikimedia Commons besser dokumentiert vorzufinden. Denkt daran: Hochgeladen werden können die Bilder vom 8.September bis und mit dem 8.Oktober 2014. Um am Wettbewerb teilzunehmen, könnt ihr jedoch auch Bilder hochladen, die ihr zu einem beliebigen Zeitpunkt gemacht habt. Die Fotos müssen nicht während der Wettbewerbszeit entstanden sein. Wikimedia CH organisiert mehrere Wikiexpeditions während dieser Wettbewerbs-Zeit, um Fotos von Denkmälern zu machen, die nur sehr spärlich auf Commons dokumentiert sind. Stereobilder edit
Hallo Shexmax! Ich habe Deine Stereobilder sehr gern angeschaut und sofern die Bilder nebeneinander sind, funktionieren sie auch alle und haben mir gefallen. Was aber soll man mit den senkrecht übereinander gestellten Bildern machen? Meine Augen - und soweit ich das bisher feststellen konnte, ist das bei allen Menschen so - sind nebeneinander, daher funktionieren auch die Stereobilder nur, wenn die Bilder nebeneinander sind. - Hallo Häferl,
- ich schaue diese Bilder auf einem Samsung Fernseher. Dort kann man auswählen, ob die Bilder nebeneinander oder untereinander sind. Ich habe nie geschaft, die Stereobiler mit blossem Auge anzusehen, Vielleicht liegt es an meinen Augen. Deshalb habe ich nie daran gedacht, dass sie nur nebeneinander sein sollen.

- Hallo Shexmax! Ich führe jetzt mal Fragen und Antworten hier zusammen. Wir antworten immer dort, wo ein Gespräch begonnen wurde - ob geantwortet wurde, siehst Du dann auch in der Beobachtungsliste (ganz oben rechts findest Du den Link). Zum Signieren eines Beitrags verwendet man diese Zeichenkombination, die Du auch mit dem Signatur- und Zeitstempel-Button (der Bleistift neben dem K des Kursiv-Buttons) erzeugen kannst: --~~~~ Das wird dann automatisch umgewandelt.

- Finde ich erstaundlich, daß Du Stereobilder machst, obwohl Du sie selbst nicht richtig sehen kannst. Aber ich denke, ein Fernseher ist vielleicht auch zu groß. Ein 22- oder 24-Zoll-Bildschirm ist meiner Meinung nach genau richtig. Aber vielleicht hast Du auch bloß noch nicht die richtige Technik (des Betrachtens) heraußen. In dieser Galerie findet sich auf Seite 2 das Bild Skulptur "Denkpartner" in Stuttgart 3D - das ist die leichteste Übung, die mir bislang untergekommen ist, vielleicht klappt es ja damit? Setz Dich (das Bild im Vollbildmodus) so vor den Bildschirm, daß der Bildschirm einen Großteil des Gesichtsfeldes einnimmt, Du also rundherum nichts Störendes mehr wahrnimmst, und versuche entweder, die Augen so zu stellen, als würdest Du einen Punkt hinter dem Bildschirm anschauen wollen, oder schiele einfach leicht, aber entspannt (jeder findet mit der Zeit seine Technik). Nicht gleich aufgeben, es dauert eine Weile, bis die Augen bzw. das Hirn die Bilder richtig verarbeiten, einfach warten. Angeblich können das nur Menschen nicht, die tatsächlich schielen. Wiki Loves Monuments Spain 2016 is coming!Dear Shesmax, As every year, Wiki Loves Monuments in Spain, an international photographic contest about cultural heritage in the Spanish territory, will start on next September 1st. On behalf of the Wikipedia community and Wikimedia España (WM-ES), and as a participant in former editions of the event, or in other photographic contests organized by WM-ES, we'd like to encourage you to participate in the 2016 edition. We do know that you've been keen on contributing your work to the free knowledge in the past and therefore believe that you'll be glad to help us again. We want to inform you about a substantial change in the rules of the contest: this year only images of monuments or municipalities without previous photograph in Wikimedia Commons are accepted. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.
In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.
Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.

Dabei können unter anderem Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Geotope und Naturdenkmäler fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Wie du bei den Top 5 des vergangenen Jahres siehst, sind vor allem Tiere unter den Siegerbildern. Aus diesem Grund setzen wir den Fokus dieses Jahr stärker auf Landschaftsaufnahmen. Aber natürlich haben auch Tierbilder eine Chance zu gewinnen.
Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Findlinge, Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. Auch im vergangenen Jahr sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, für die wir uns über Fotos freuen. Obwohl es den Wettbewerb seit über zehn Jahren gibt, sind immer noch viele Motive überall in Deutschland zu fotografieren. Im Herzen Deutschlands in Thüringen und in Niedersachsen sind neue Denkmallisten entstanden, die auf Fotos warten. Übrigens in der Hauptstadt Thüringens in Erfurt findet dieses Jahr die WikiCon vom 1. bis 3. Oktober statt. Dies könnte man mit einem Foto-Kurzurlaub vor der WikiCon in Thüringen verbinden …
Vor dem Hintergrund der Flutkatastrophe 2021 haben wir auch drei Sonderpreise ausgelobt. Damit sollen Fotos prämiert werden, die Kulturdenkmale zeigen, die zerstört wurden. Das Foto kann das Objekt vor oder nach der Zerstörung zeigen.

Dear uploader of Wiki Loves Earth in Switzerland and Wiki Loves Monuments in Switzerland, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2021 has started in the whole world. It is now open in your country until December, 15th.
If you want to take part in WSC2021, please consult this page. There are different categories that can be used (you might therefore have something already interesting in your archive). Prizes can be allocated for the 1st and 2nd positions in every category.
If you are an expert user, we remind you that the images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface by simply adding the national category.
If you take part, please consider improving the description in English of your files, since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them at the following step. World finalists will be finalized after March 2022.

Vergangenes Jahr hat Matthias Süßen mit einer Drohnenaufnahme von Schloss Langenburg im Morgennebel gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf wird dieses Jahr sein Nachfolger?
Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Cloppenburg oder in Oldenburg.

Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from around the world, such as folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folktales, folk games, folk religion, mythology, and many more.
The campaign invites participants to document photographs, videos, and audios linked to folk culture and fit within the contest's theme. Through this campaign, you may become a part of a community dedicated to preserving our intangible culture, which has been brought and passed down for thousands of years.
How to Contribute?
The dates for the submission in the photography contest on Wikimedia Commons are from 1 February to 31 March 2023. Probably you are wondering how you can take part.
