First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.

Jeg har indstillet de kort, du har kopieret fra trafikselskabernes hjemmesider, til sletning. Det er ikke tilladt at uploade andres kort og billeder uden tilladelse. Den slags er brud på ophavsretten. Og hvis du har tilladelse, så skal det fremgå tydeligt. For du må ikke bare uploade andres kort og billeder i dit eget navn. Desuden skal du være sikker på, at den oprindelige skaber eller fotograf er indforstået med reglerne på Wikimedia Commons. Er du Moderator her på Wikipedia? Har du et personligt hetz på mig fordi jeg har rettet nogle af DINE artikler til?

Billedet af 80E bl.a har jeg fået skriftlig tilladelse af ejeren til at bruge. det samme har jeg med alle de billeder jeg har uploadet. Omkring trafikselskabernes linjekort ligger de offentlig tilgængelige og man kan frit benytte sig af dem. det står blandt andet også i trafikselskabernes vedtægter hvis du har læst disse igennem..... These files come from the public transport company in Denmark called Movia / Formerly Vestsjællands Trafikselskab and therefore it is legal to use these files as it is a public domain, The files are downloaded from a web archive where they have been stored for public use by people with a bus interest since bus lines around Zealand have been moved around so much that they have chosen to save the line maps from earlier times. Fejlen er nok at jeg har uploadet nogle af kortene i eget navn og jeg har så reuploadet dem under trafikselskabernes navne, altså nogle af dem, nu må jeg se om kortene her fra VT slettes. Bemærk at jeg har flyttet alle dine uploads til underkategorier af Category:Buses in Denmark. Bemærk specielt underkategorierne i Category:Buses in Denmark by city, hvor der i forvejen er et ret stort antal tilsvarende billeder, som det ofte kan være fornuftigt at sammenligne med. Bemærk at Category:Bus er en meget generel international kategori med alt for mange billeder til at man har en realistisk chance for at finde hvad man evt søger. Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. Nu kan jeg desværre ikke længere se hvad du har gjort, men jeg mindes at have set nogle af dine uploads hvor licens feltet ikke var udfyldt. Bemærk også at Commons er et internationalt projekt med deltagere fra et stort antal forskellige lande. Man ikke med rette forvente at andre end et lille mindretal af dem forstår dansk.
