Picture of the Year voting round 1 open

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

Hallo Hadi nein, und ich mache das rückgängig da gegenstandlos. Du solltest aber das auch so in die Bildbescheibungsseite setzen, dass es ohne Link deutlich wird. Der Link kann sich schon mal ändern und das bessert niemand nach. --Codc (talk) 16:39, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Ich finde so etwas auf die Schnelle nicht aber ich weiss dass bei Flickr-Importe das gleiche Problem auftritt. Vielleicht fragst du auch einfach hier nach die Bildspezialisten haben da sicher besser den Überblick. --Codc (talk) 16:48, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Hallo Hadi und Codc, ich bin gerade erst auf diesen Abschnitt gestossen - für solche Fälle gibt es {{LicenseReview}}. Wenn man diesen Baustein (ohne Parameter!) einsetzt, wird anschliessend ein Administrator oder Reviewer überprüfen, ob das Bild unter dem angegebenen Link mit der verwendeten Lizenz zu finden ist, und das dann durch die entsprechenden Parameter im Baustein festhalten. Beim Bild von Ziegler habe ich den Baustein jetzt (als Admin mit ausgefüllten Parametern) eingesetzt. Damit ist auch für die Zukunft bestätigt, dass das Bild unter dieser Lizenz veröffentlicht wurde, selbst wenn der ursprüngliche Link eines Tages nicht mehr funktioniert. Ich empfehle also, bei Uploads aus externen Quellen wie diesen immer den Baustein {{LicenseReview}} (wie gesagt, ohne Parameter - diese füllt erst der überprüfende Admin oder Reviewer aus) anzufügen. Damit erspart man sich Ärger und sichert das Bestehen des Bildes auf Commons. Gestumblindi (talk) 16:28, 18 November 2018 (UTC)

Ich habe inzwischen aus dieser Fotosammlung der Bibliothek am Guisanplatz (BiG) schätzungsweise 100 Bilder auf Commons hochgeladen und ich möchte noch weitermachen... Falls die Webseite der BiG einmal verschwinden sollte, gibt es immerhin im Webarchiv eine Aufnahme, welche die Freigabe der Bilder aus dieser Sammlung bestätigt: "The BiG owns the copyrights to all of the pictures in this collection. With their sources cited according to the recommended format, they can be used freely for scientific, private or commercial purposes (upon observance of rights of personality and the trademark protection law)." Naja, wir verwenden auch extrem viele Fotos von Flickr, und immer mit so einem Baustein (wenn auch in diesem Fall der spezifischere {{Flickrreview}}), also würde ich sagen: Einfach jeweils standardmässig gleich beim Upload {{LicenseReview}} einsetzen. Hadi, beim Bild File:Daniel Müller Nationalrat Schweiz.jpg ist mir gerade aufgefallen, dass du den Baustein {{LicenseReview}} als {{tl|LicenseReview}} eingefügt hattest, wahrscheinlich so von hier kopiert ;-) - {{Tl}} benutzt man aber nur, um einen Baustein, den man nicht einbinden will, zu verlinken (also z.B. auf einer Diskussionsseite wie hier), und so funktioniert das nicht. This image was uploaded quite a while ago, and yes it is poor quality, but deleting it will destroy the history of the pages that have linked it over time. Hallo Hadi, ich schreibe dich an, weil du wohl damals mit der ETH-Kooperation zu tun hattest(?). Ich hatte einige Uploads im Umfeld ETH-Bibliothek/Dürrenmatt bemerkt und auf User talk:Tressbo59 nach der Permission nachgehakt. Er/sie wollte sich kümmern, da ist aber wohl inzwischen ein Löschantrag durchgewunken worden. Formal wohl richtig, aber es soll ein entsprechendes Ticket geben. Wenn die ETH-Bib wirklich die vollen Nutzungsrechte auch an den zeichnerischen Arbeiten von Dürrenmatt hat, könnte das evtl. noch gerettet werden? Magst du bitte mal schauen? Danke! sorry, ich glaube ich habe die ETH-Bibliothek mit der Nationalbibliothek verwechselt bzw. das falsch im Kopf von den Dürrenmatt-Uploads des Users. Hatte Uploads von dir auch im Kontext Dürrenmatt gesehen und schon war die Verwechslung perfekt. Ich schau mal, ob ich einen VTRS-Kollegen anhaue, was hinter dem Ticket steckt. September 15 – September 30: Applications for the election committee
October 1 – October 9: Vote for election committee (ideally comprised of three members)
October 10: Election committee starts work
October 20 – November 9: Nomination phase for candidacies
November 10 – December 10: Elections
December 15: Results announced
