Autopatrol givenEdit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically sighted. This will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to help users watching Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones. Thank you. kABEdit

Thanks for your recent BSicon uploads! However, I would ask you to check the categories (some of your uploads were placed in non-existent categories), and also to eschew from uploading "kAB" icons until this discussion is settled. Thanks again! YLSS (talk) 19:53, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

DuplicatesEdit

The Michigan images that you marked as {{duplicate}} are not duplicates as per the policy. They show the same things, but duplicate means exact, not similar.  — billinghurst sDrewth 07:33, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Similarly for the Bengali characters which are a file mismatch, which means that they cannot be speedied. If you think that they should be deleted, then they should proceed by a nornal deletion process.  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:21, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2013 is open!Edit

2012 Picture of the Year: A pair of European Bee-eaters in Ariège, France.

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2013 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the eighth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2013) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the most popular image in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just one image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on . Click here to learn more and vote »

Narrow linesEdit

Hi, it was discussed at Talk:BSicon/Renaming#BL that all BSicons with narrow lines ("n" prefix or suffix) should use 50px-wide lines, not 40px-wide. Could you please re-upload them? YLSS (talk) 07:51, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Oh sure, I could do that--I hope I'm not at fault for going off an icon that didn't abide by this rule. Mahir256 (talk) 14:40, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
Of course you aren't! There's quite a lot of BSicons around that show different designs, so it's just always better to check Talk:BSicon/Icon geometry and SVG code neatness beforehand. YLSS (talk) 18:56, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

File:BSicon uxTEEna.svg & File:BSicon uxTEEne.svgEdit

I don't understand how these would work: un-navigable waterway & a navigable feeder (which by definition is unnavigable)? Useddenim (talk) 18:56, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

(Useddenim, they do not need to be feeders, just an abstract thick line and an abstract narrow line. Maybe an important line and a less important line.) That said, they are no more useful than   (xKBHFa) etc. YLSS (talk) 21:02, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Your VFC installation method is deprecatedEdit

Hello Mahir256, we are aware that using the old installation method of VFC (via common.js, which you are using) may not work reliably anymore and can break other scripts as well. A detailed explanation can be found here. Important: To prevent problems please remove the old VFC installation code from your common.js and instead enable the VFC gadget in your preferences. Thanks! --VFC devs (q) 16:23, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

File:Distribution-of-Somali-dialectals.png‎Edit

Greetings. Regarding the use categories in File:Distribution-of-Somali-dialectals.png‎ specifically this edit [1], the Somali language and its dialects are used across a number of countries in East Africa, would it still be over-categorisation to keep the countries (Djibouti, Kenya etc) if we removed other categories like Dialects, Languages of Africa..etc? Thanks for the link in your summary. Regards --Kzl55 (talk) 20:57, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

@Kzl55: I have added two more categories as you suggested. Mahir256 (talk) 02:51, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
Many thanks. I will also add Ethiopia as per [Somali language]. Regards --Kzl55 (talk) 07:54, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

What contain the font? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 02:00, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: I believe you can download the font you've created with a save button in the sidebar. (You will have to adjust the Unicode code points to use by going to the font settings.) Mahir256 (talk) 02:18, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, I have an USB to enhance the font Highway Gothic. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 11:15, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: That's good. If you can export the characters you make in a format such as SVG instead of the low-resolution PNGs you've been uploading, it will be considerably easier for us to make modifications to them if others find some area to be fixed. Mahir256 (talk) 15:52, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, how about the diacritics? It is contain the dotted circle or not?
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: Well, if putting a diacritic after a letter (try something like বৌ) eliminates the dotted circle and forms the right compound, then you should be fine. If the right compound isn't formed even without the dotted circle, then you can try using one of the other font software packages I mentioned. Mahir256 (talk) 01:34, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, aside from Highway Gothic, I can expand the several fonts that exist in Microsoft like Arial Rounded? The open font Interstate? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 02:47, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: Both the default Microsoft fonts and Interstate are apparently proprietary, so you may have issues adding to those. Have you considered expanding this replacement font for Interstate, which is free and open?. Mahir256 (talk) 19:20, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, open. In Unicode 6.1. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 04:10, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, I can change the author of the font Highway Gothic? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 10:05, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: If you just want to add your name to the already existing list of authors, that's fine. Removing attribution from the font, however, would not be appropriate to do. (You should always be aware of copyright issues in any case, however.) Mahir256 (talk) 16:13, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, can I design in other scripts (even unto Unicode 6.1)? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 01:13, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: If your font editor supports those code points which are present in Unicode 6.1, you should be fine. Mahir256 (talk) 01:18, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, the Tai Le script has similar to Latin? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 04:00, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: The Tai Le script is an alphasyllabary, rather than an alphabet like Latin, meaning that each consonant has an inherent vowel 'a' unless otherwise followed by a vowel symbol. In this respect it is more similar to the Devanagari or Thai scripts. (The enwiki article indicates that these vowel symbols may be followed by final consonants.) On the other hand there are no combining forms as may be found in other alphasyllabaries (though writing it in the 1960s required some diacritics). Mahir256 (talk) 04:07, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
(1)The Greek and Cyrillic can be? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 09:26, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: I am sure that the same considerations one takes when designing a Latin font apply to Greek and Cyrillic fonts as well. Mahir256 (talk) 18:51, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
(2)Can modify font from the existing characters? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 03:57, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: I don't think this is problematic. Why the different font for your messages? Mahir256 (talk) 04:22, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
Not, it is Highway Gothic. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 04:26, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: The font tag you're using has Segoe Script, Tahoma in it and not Highway Gothic. If you're modifying your own system fonts, then I obviously can't see the changes you've made. Mahir256 (talk) 04:29, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Mahir256, Tai Le and Lisu characters will be publish Highway Gothic?--Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 02:32, 29 October 2017 (UTC)

@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: Oh yeah, your font looks great! If you can get a TTF/OTF file put up somewhere (preferably with just the Tai Le and Lisu characters that you made characters for), that'd be great! Have you tried to add the raster glyphs you made previously to your font? Mahir256 (talk) 02:45, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, the characters, this photo is in down. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 08:56, 29 October 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, the Armenian script is not completed. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 03:09, 30 October 2017 (UTC)

Can Highway Gothic can reach to 4,000 glyphs? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 10:29, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Mahir256, I've got the ℞ symbol for Highway Gothic! --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 10:10, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, if the Unicode characters updated, Highway Gothic follow? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 03:31, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, how about the Thai, Latinicized or Traditional? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 09:10, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Hello, can answer me this message? --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 02:08, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: All you have to show for your progress are some screenshots (no TTF/OTF/WOFF etc. files), so I am hesitant to continue replying to you. That being said, 1) congrats on getting the prescription symbol, 2) the Highway Gothic font will be updated when the original developers of the font decide to add new Unicode characters, and 3) what is "Latinicized" Thai and how does it compare to "Traditional" Thai? (Searching "latinicized thai" gives me this talk page.) Mahir256 (talk) 02:13, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
Mahir256, In Thai typeface design the formal loopless Thai typefaces have more simple forms than the conservative looped Thai designs, and this simplification has to be done properly in order to preserve the essential character of each letter. Sizes and positions of vowels and tone marks need to be managed carefully because they are all relevant to readability, legibility, and overall textures. When designing Kabit, special care was taken with some groups of letters such as ก ถ ภ ฤ ฦ, ฎ ฏ, บ ป, and ข ช to ensure they are distinct and legible, because it might lead to confusion if each glyph is not clear enough. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 08:48, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

How to publish the modified fontEdit

How to publish the modified font? Because Highway Gothic is nearly completed, including Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Thai, Lao, Myanmar, Cherokee, Khmer, Tagalog, Tai Le, New Tai Lue, Tai Tham, Lisu, and Private Use Areas. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 01:30, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Mahir256, can you reply me? Because it is last message for you. --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 01:37, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
@Cyrus noto3at bulaga: There should be a way to export from Glyphr Studio (a save button, with the option to export as OTF, perhaps?). Mahir256 (talk) 01:39, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

Highway GothicEdit

Highway Gothic also includes Kayah Li and Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics. It can be purchase in ₱10 (৳16.37) only.

http://www.glyphrstudio.com/ (December-January)Edit

I can add the Bangla characters on any fonts? (Highway Gothic, Segoe Script, Freestyle Script, Interstate, and many others), because it is your abugida. Regards, --Cyrus noto3at bulaga (talk) 08:47, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
