Per COM:Commissioned works, "Commissioned works are works that are commissioned by one party and created by another." It is plentiful here: tarpaulins, municipal statues, and national monuments may be commissioned by the Philippine government (or the local governments), but created by different (and usually non-government) persons or individuals (like artists). Translation markup

Please do not manually adjust the translation unit markers on translatable pages, such as <!--T:1-->, as you did in this edit. Those markers are used by the Translate extension to match paragraphs of the source page to translation pages, like these. The next available translation unit number isn't always the next number in the sequence, as units that were added and then removed retain their unit numbers. From Commons:Deletion requests#Closing discussions:

Deletion requests must not be closed by the nominator that created them unless done before anyone else has contributed to the request.

Coins

Hi Ox1997cow, if you have the oppertunity, I made a list of the coins per design date on Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Money of North Korea. These coins could be listed in the top text section of the various undeletion categories, for instance Category:Undelete in 2025 for the coin of 1974, etc. This is not so much work it seems. Flickr2Commons

I have just come across a few images you have recently uploaded from Flickr. I would appreciate it if in the future, you used the Flickr2Commons tool. This tool allows images to be moved to Commons from Flickr without having to download the images to your own computer. It also brings in the largest resolution of the image, as well making sure to list the correct license and url, making it easy for the automated Flickr Review system. Also, it is fairly easy to categorize images with this tool. Copyright of coins of Canada

Hello,

On 11 August 2021, you changed [1] the introduction of Category:Coins of Canada by removing the reference to the Canadian Crown copyright of 50 years after the publication and by replacing it with a different copyright based on the life of the designer. Can you please explain in detail the rationale on which you based your decision to make that radical change? It seems to me from the Royal Canadian Mint Act [2] that the Crown corporation Canadian Mint, acting as an agent the Canadian Crown, acts under the control of the Crown and that the coins would be under Crown copyright according to section 12 of the Copyright Act [3]. -- Asclepias (talk) 14:27, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

FOP Vietnam 2023

Hi! Per Special:Diff/711284841 a text was added saying that after 1st January 2023, re-uploaded images after cropped or edited are not allowed on Wikimedia Commons. I get it that we can't use new photos but I wonder why we can't crop. And what about importing files uploaded on enwiki or viwiki for example? Do you have a link to where I can read more about it? I do not think that Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2022/10#Updated_copyright_law_of_Vietnam_and_no_more_FOP? says it so explicit that not even crops are allowed. --MGA73 (talk) 19:34, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
