I have noticed that you have added your username to some images that I have transferred from Panoramio. I did not know this, if I had, then I did it myself. All in all thanks for your files and your contributions.

Time zone map

Hello,

I saw, you did some corrects to time zones of Europe map (here). I saw one small mistake there. Faroe Islands (a few dots between Iceland and Great Britain) may belong to Denmark, but they have different time zone - Western European Time (+1 one hour in summer same as Portugal, Ireland or Great Britain. I don't know how to correct that mistake, so I would be very glad if you deal with it. :)

Категоризация

Не могли бы Вы при категоризации сразу добавлять ещё и географическую категорию, например Category:Buildings in Omsk или Category:Kislovodsk? Как я понимаю, с тулзами это времени практически не отнимает, а эти категории всё равно нужны. А разве эти категории (Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Kislovodsk) не являются подкатегориями географических категорий (Category:Kislovodsk)? В таком случае я точно не вижу смысла в дублировании (как сейчас получилось с категорией Category:Minusinsk. Со зданиями еще более менее понятно только не во всех категориях городов они есть. --Insider (talk) 12:18, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Сейчас по некоторым городам являются (в идеале они уйдут в категории типа Category:Culture in xxx, но на данный момент таких очень мало), но по тем же Кисловодску и Минусинску не сейчас, так позже придётся создавать отдельные категории Category:Buildings in Minusinsk, и туда она уже не попадёт (конечно, подавляющая часть памятников культурного наследия - задния, но всё-таки не все, по Кисловодску, например, парк есть, так что, в принципе, это другая линия категоризации). А если сейчас в изображения эти категории не проставить, то они все будут лежать внути категории Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Minusinsk, и вспомнят ли о них при создании категории зданий, я не знаю.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:26, 27 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. But, then we have a problem. Russia, where this billboard is located, has no freedom-of-panorama exemption from copyright for works of art in public space. As the photo on the billboard is surely recent, it's copyrighted. Unfortunately there is no Freedom of Panorama in Belarus for targets whose architects/ designers are still alive or it is less than 50 years since their death. Kindly note that citation use might still be allowed. In such a case this photo should be saved to and used from national wikipedia (as it is likely to be deleted in Commons). G'day Insider, I have a question about this monastery, as I believe a photograph of it might be appropriate for the en:Josip Broz Tito article on WP. I am wondering if it was this monastery that operated as a hospital for prisoners of war during WWI and which Tito was nursed back to health in after being wounded. Any idea if this is the right one? Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Insider,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Здравствуйте, а как вы определили, что на фото запечатлён сад Андрея Букина? Есть ли у вас, возможно, какие-то его контакты? Я только что создал Category:Photographs by Бука, в первую очередь для служебных целей: большинство файлов в ней надо перекатегоризировать, и так легче будет найти схожие. Но если Бука = Андрей Букин, то наверно, её стоит переименовать в Category:Photographs by Andrey Bukin... Плюс к этому, может подскажете, что делать с тремя фото картин из его панорамио? 1 2 3 Не знаю уж, корректно ли их категоризировать, как "Photographs by Бука/Andrey Bukin", но и не обладаю информацией, кто их писал. This map: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_of_winners_of_the_Ice_Hockey_World_Championships.svg hasn't been updated; Sweden reached its 10th gold last year, so it should be in another color. (And if Switzerland wins tomorrow's final, they'll need a new color too afterwards :P) I don't have any program to update the map, and you did the update last time (in 2012) so I figured you might be willing to help. Can you color the Arctic islands (including Wrangel Island) as part of Russia, because all these islands were already part of Russia in 1898. The exceptions are the Franz Josef Islands which were annexed only in 1926 by the USSR and Svalbard which was still unclaimed/contested. In all these maps, I have added the borders of South Sudan and Montenegro, and erased the hole called the "Peanut Hole" in the center of the Sea of Okhotsk which is now wholly part of the Russian EEZ since 2014, when the United Nations Commission recognized it as part of the Russian EEZ after the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea was updated. I have erased the disputed border line around the southern Kuriles, not only because they are de-jure and internationally recognized as part of Russia, the Russian EEZ around them are likewise internationally recognized by the UN, even if Japan does not. I have left the Caspian Sea as it is, not only because it is not subject to the EEZ of the UN, I don't have the knowledge to draw the border, unless I can find the same type of map and dimensions with the Caspian Sea (to copy and paste it).

Вы в 2010 году инициировали перевод сайта президента Башкортостана на лицензию CC BY 3.0, однако пометка о лицензировании материалов сайта появилась только в конце мая 2017 года уже с лицензией CC BY 4.0. Как вы думаете, согласны ли вы с тем, что материалы сайта, опубликованные до конца мая 2017 года, распространяются по лицензиям CC BY 3.0 и 4.0 по аналогии c Kremlin.ru до запуска нынешней версии сайта 8 апреля 2015 года? Я об ограничениях по датам имею ввиду - если смотреть по архивированным версиям bashkortostan.ru, то действительно, первая версия с CC BY 4.0 датирована 3 июня 2017 года, последняя версия без лицензии - 11 апреля 2017 года. Значит, в этом промежутке времени официальный сайт Башкирии перевёл контент на CC BY 4.0, при этом точной даты неизвестно. MasterRus21thCentury (talk) 19:45, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

На сайте Октябрьской ЖД значится как действующая. А так если только грузовыми поездами или сезонными электричками (если такие остались), регулярная электричка на Кандалакшу не останавливается. Воронежско-Козловская железная дорога

Привет! Я создал категорию и загрузил несколько фотографий: c:Category:Album of views of the Voronezh-Kozlov Railways. Начал разбираться с категориями и заметил Вашу загрузку: File:Воронежско-Козловская железная дорога 02 Козловская станция.jpg. Где были мои глаза :) В своём файле я удалил логотип (bvf в углу) и немного поправил уровни в фоторедакторе, поэтому вопрос: нужно ли удалять Вашу загрузку или оставить?

Вопросы по метаданным этой картинки: точно ли автор Альберт Генрих Иванович Мей? На самом альбоме указано фотоателье (Scherer, Nabholz and Co.), а кто именно фотограф - я не понял. -- Andrew Krizhanovsky (talk) 07:40, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Привет, Andrew Krizhanovsky. Сложный вопрос. В целом мне не принципиально. В принципе, можно оставить обе, тем более раз у Вас неполная загрузка, да и фотографии кропнуты из страниц альбома. Оптимально их наверное кропнуть до самой фотографии (без подписи) и тогда они точно будут обе полезны. Ну и категории одну в другую вложить (например с уточнением в скобках cropped) - где-то встречал такой вариант. Что касается фотографа, точно не скажу откуда я это взял, давно было дело.
