Thank you for providing images to the Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to the Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.

To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.

You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.

The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on the Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

• Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
• State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
• If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
• Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
• Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

Delete images

You can delete images putting the {{Speedy}} template in the image's description, asking an administrator or simply letting the images with the template of lack of a license because it will be delete in 7 days. It depend on the magazine, what magazine is it? anyway, generally magazines are not free, so you can't use that map.
There are many free maps in Commons, please use one of them, you can also use OpenStreetMap, please keep in mind that you should always mention your source with a link.

This image is truly much better than File:JOC Campagne Avenir profesionnel.jpg but it also has JPG artifacts, this results in a much bigger file size. It's truly a bit difficult image. I see now it's scanned, so JPG could also an option for this, because there are also many injuries. Maybe this is interesting for reediting Wikipedia:How_to_reduce_colors_for_saving_a_JPEG_as_PNG, Commons:Media_for_cleanup#Images_with_non-free_frames. Dear Thcollet, Wikimedia Commons accepts only free content, 'Noncommercial' (nc) and 'No Derivatives' (nd) licenses are not acceptable on commons, for more information please see: Commons:Project scope.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

@Thcollet and Yann: Bonjour, il existe une extension Chrome et Firefox pour faciliter la récupération des images. https://www.geobib.fr/blog/2017-12-06-telechargement-gallica. Je suis en train de remplacer les basses déf par les hautes déf. J'ai fait les photos de l'agence Mondial. Maintenant j'attaque celles de l'Agence Rol. Photo "Jean Lassalle" d'après Gallica

Bonjour, j'ai vu votre nouvelle version, je suis curieux de savoir comment vous obtenez une image sans traces en transparences, du même format que la mienne et d'un poids bien inférieur tout en étant de même qualité apparemment ? Il reste encore de nombreuse photos à prendre sur Gallica dans la revue Paris Artiste, je me suis arrêté au n° 53 (sur 85) et j'ai sauté les personnalités trop connues et bien représentées sur Commons. Merci, je ne connaissais pas ces fichiers, jusque là, je découpais le portrait à partir de la page entière en version HD. je pense qu'ils font la même chose puisque le format est comparable, mais les impression visible en transparence disparaissent ce qui est mieux.
