Hi, you tagged this file as PD-self. Actually, I dare to doubt that you are the author of this design. This is government insignia and needs proper licence tagging. Thank you if you could update the file. Unfortunately, myself I have no time to research the EU licensing conditions but sincerely doubt this is a free image. Having seen your work on global maps, i want to ask you if it would be possible for you to do an orthographic projection for these islands File:Mauritius (+claim islands).svg (excluding Réunion island) with Mauritius island centered. In fact i already done these one File:Mauritius (orthographic projection).svg, File:Mauritius (orthographic projection with inset).svg previously, but i couldn't include islands which are claim by Mauritius, as i made these map using File:MDG orthographic.svg (which is centered on Madagascar), we need one which is more centered toward the east to be able to represent all islands correctly. I would suggest to highlight islands which are part of Mauritius in Green (i.e Mauritius, Rodrigues, Saint Brandon, Agalega) and islands which are claim by Mauritius in any other color (i.e Tromelin, Chagos Archipelago) and upload the file as an updated version of this one. The reason for creating this orthographic projection is to use it in wikipedia infobox and relevant articles, together with this map so that readers will not only have a detailed map of these islands but will also be able to locate them on the global map more easily. I could have done it myself but i don't how to centered these islands on the orthographic projection, i tried to search for a suitable one where the western Indian Ocean is centered from these Category:SVG locator maps of countries (globe location map scheme), Category:SVG locator maps of countries (green and grey globe scheme) which i could have modify, but unfortunately i didn't find the right one. They both tell us the coat of arms of Saint-Gillis (Brussels) shows a en:Saint Giles as abbot with the curl of the crosier turned towards him. Could you please turn the crosier the right way? Hi, since you created File:Tribunal Internacional de Justicia - International Court of Justice.svg, you may be interested that I uploaded a new file, File:Seal of the 'Permanent Court of International Justice' in The Hague.jpg, which is a photograph, made in 1923, of the original seal of the International Court of Justice. I like what you did with the colors of the image. Have tried to trace the bitmap myself, with Inkscape and with Vector Magic, but I was not satisfied with the quality of the end result. This year will be the eleventh edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2016) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 20 April 2017, 23:59:59 UTC.

Proposed coat of arms for Svalbard

I wonder if you are up for a challenge. This image is from a building belonging to Statens kartverk in Ringerike. It shows the coat of arms of all the 19 Norwegian counties, and one more (bottom left). I contacted Statens kartverk and they confirmed that when this building was built in 1980, for the then Norges geografiske oppmåling, this coat of arms was on the table as a proposal for Svalbard. I think it would be interesting to add this information to Wikipedia and then it would be useful to have an svg version. Can you create it? Nidator (talk) 11:20, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
